Yes you can Justinkoo.

Congratulations to [X]-BryanMaster who won Tekken 5 (surprise surprise) last night. Walking away with the $1000.00 first prize.

[X]-LordJin came second.

Final score. 3 - 2 in [X]-BryanMaster's favour.

nothing was organised
basically nothing played off yesterday besides tekke, halo and sc3
the ppl behind this should have ensured that everything would have be ready for an early start on saturday..the earliest anything started..if i remember correctly was after 12..some sof started..but then boom something went wrong again..causing all electronics in the room to be shut off..even the tvs with the consoles..poor poor form

(sigh)

I am just...so, so very depressed right now.
The Deception tournament, the very thing I came for, just didn't happen.
And I saw quite a few names on the list, as well. By the time they tried to do something,(which was at 9:30 last night), everybody on that list but me was gone.

:(

Hard luck. Can't say I didn't expect something like this. The time constraints you guys placed on yourselves were way too precise. You'd need twice the equipment and twice the organisers you had to actually pull it all off. Things happen and you guys didn't allow any time for things to go wrong and they always do, especially when you don't plan for them. I hope you guys learned from it though. Would be such a waste if history keeps repeating itself.

all in all after spending 48 hours in that stadium
i cant say that it was a success
but all in all it was enjoyable

massive props for the big screen tekken tourney that got the crowd wild

paint rush was another crowd pleaser

ONE suggestion, talk to an electrician about power and such before choosing an event oui?

although me eh get no sweat :(
it needed to have sumn like all console events run one day
all pc on the next ... cuz it was a bit mayhemish

Big surprise there.  Tekken 5 was the only event I knew to be guaranteed to come off.  NEO, you got salt.  I'd say make lemonade or some sodium solution but those suck unless you like tequila.  It'd probably be a wasted effort to ask for even a partial refund at this point I figure.

Anyway, how come the only info we got is on the t5 event and nothing else?  Anbody know who won the hyper and sc3?

Actually, I did get my money back, seeing as how I didn't compete.
Went over to Popeye's and had a meal with it afterwards.
But, you know, even if I did get my money back, I still would have rathered competing and showing everybody what I and this game were capable of, and perhaps even draw more people towards it.

Not raining on your parade Neo but yu know what i was saying all along bout the deception.

THe yugiouh went off ok right? Cept for that incident with Chiken's deck....

Even with all the dissapointments, iam glad that there are gamers hard core enuff, like me, who stayed there for 2 days waiting and hoping for their events to go off.

To those that left, well your loss yes, but to those that stayed, kudos.

THe event location was somethign i will always cherish.

Seeing the tekken and soul calibur and the NARUTO on the big screen and having people cheer you on was fantastic.

THe pc tourneys on the other hand will need to be much better organised next time.
DOta was cancelled for various reasons.

Sof finnalyy came off. Congrats TG.

THe halo and fifa tourneys went off sooo perfectly that i wished i was a halo or fifa player. Lol, good job topper and all else involved in the halo and fifa organisation.

The naruto players are hardcore and we stayed there well past 12 on sunday night waiting for our chance.

We got it.

It was great.

Thanks to JK entertainment also for having a mini tourney for naruto, ggx (some version on xbox) and a need for speed tourney.
I believe shenju won the ggx, i could be wrong.

CONGRATS TO ALL THE TOURNEY WINNERS.

I understand Cliff won the yugioh tourney, right neo?

Congrats to you Cliff.

good tourney tourney buss good tourney.

lol @ dotanoob.

On saturday we had 5 events scheduled.

We ran three of 'em.

1 was cancelled and another postponed due to power issues that delayed the event.

I would say it was mayhem from the start but not for the reasons you would think.

We had an unexpected national holiday thanks to the Soca Warriors triumph over Bahrain. A lot of workers refused to work on all of Wednesday evening and Thursday. Leaving most of the pre-tourney setup and testing for Friday Night / Saturday Morning instead of Thursday Night / Friday morning.

That totally caught us of guard. As a result, things went awry without much time left to fix 'em.

SOF2 for example, was scheduled for an entire day by it's lonesome. All of Saturday. Tons of slack time in case things went wrong. Yet, power problems were so extreme that we were not able to run it at all and not enough time to get it fixed properly. Only patch work after patch work.

Pushing SOF back to Sunday to clash with COD. Sof, being the big event that it was, took all of the day and by time we were ready to start CoD the generator was out of diesel.

A nightmare by any definition.

The COD guys who waited till the very end were bitter and understandably so.

Apologies to all.

DOTA guys were fussin all along but we never did schedule a day for DOTA due to poor pre-registration and the need to run that event's prelims before the actual tourney day.

Now that we have the teams registered, the plan is to run that event at the GLs, league style. Tons of time to work out any issues, rather than a rushed one day schedule. Same for CoD.

Pressure.

Let us hope this works out for the best!

well what u saying and what the ppl from toppers was saying was 2 completely different scenes
i , on more than one occasion, asked the fellas if the dota was scheduled for today and they kept saying yeah it running 2day, yea it running jus now
if it is that yall knew the dota wasnt goign 2 run at all for the weekend, why not make an official announcement showing ppl the scene..men come from south 2 days straight..men come from grande 2 days straight jus 2 get brace?
das a mad scene right there..and honestly just giving back ppl their money isnt enough nah..the fatigue of the days were ridiculous..and if u honestly beleive that ppl would spend there time going 2 different gls now after what took place..then u my friend are wrong
i for one..not going 2 come from say..grande..go down town 2 play one game..then another day leave n go place x 2 play another game etc..men looking 2 set aside one nice day..go and handle d scene..win or go home basically
and well honestly with respect to the dota..only 3 teams were major contendors...tg1..tg|tyb and hymc(team grande) the rest of them players like the men from tech source n thing..they weak..not boasting or nothingl.but they weak..need 2 spend some more time getting some skill...peace out for now and remember..its a celebration b1tches

then your loss dota noob.

We know the gaming scene and we were handling that. You should have listened to us.

I kept telling the other organizers as well but in an eagerness to please they kept giving attendees hope that Dota would run.

The time and technical issues that would make it impractical escaped them, despite by best explanations.

Luckily, a number of the GLs and teams are willing to participate in the league so we shall run it with them, offering the same prize in the coming weeks.

Look out for the results as the league progresses on the GATT site and at GL notice boards near you.

He said "best" characters.

The man never said anything about not being able to play all characters good.

Even if he could play all "good" there will still be some that he would play better than others.

noob.

And there were some pretty powerful machines down at Arena set aside for touranment use. Athlon 64s 3000+, 1gb ram, 6600 GTs.

The less powerful ones were for free play.

well seeing that the tournament never played off, they way u played in the free play matches is all ppl have seen of your skill, so till the time you can show your so called "true potential" you will be known as a half-a$$ competitor.
