Call of duty 2 demo I W MC !!!!!!!!! only mirror i'v seen is on fileplanet , www.fileplanet.com , it requires signup and drama but its the fastest way to get the demo , servers are high speed and other mirrors won't appear for at least another 24 hours , will report back as i see mirrors pop up , upload screenies and do a preview of the game .
Full game releasing october 25th .

I have played this demo, and all I can say is LLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAWWWWWDDDD!!!!!
If yuh aint upgrade yuh PC in a while, PLEASE DO SO, because this game will kick azz on

Have some screens for you peeps...the game is simply exhilarating for me

Was a huge fan of the first, and the second is shaping up very nicely.

Had to resize them from their original 1280x1024 to get the filesize down.

First is an indoor shot...nothing special...but the second...was so cool...there was a guy in the trench and he was like "Get down! Tanks!" ...or something like that...next thing you know there's tanks jumping the trench...I was lucky to react in time to get a screenie of it

I got my copy around 11 lastnight and I am almost all the way through the single player mode.

The game on like boil corn with many improvements over COD 1 and I am not just talking graphically. If you ran the original your machine will run this but a few things take a little getting used too.

1) After the advent of the sprint feature in United Offense getting from point A to point B without getting your a$$ blown off was a lot easier. low and behold my surprise to see that COD 2 has once again left its soldiers sprintless.

2) COD 2 has decided to follow the Far Cry model of not allowing you to scroll to your grenades. Instead you use "G" for your grenades and "4" for your smoke grenades by default. This is a minor inconvenience however that I would be willing to overlook as it allows for quick deployment of explosives without letting up too much supressing fire on the enemy. Be that as it may, I have now grown fond of pulling the pin on my grenades and holding it for 3 seconds before tossing to get and instant detonation but with the new keymapping this is no longer possible.

3) As we are on the topic of grenades that don't go off instantly I should mention the A.I. which IMO is much improved. Those Nazi bastards tend to pick up your grenades and throw them back in your face. Your comrads also possess this skill and may bail you out quite often however for some reason I have yet to figure out how to accomplish this myself, if it is at all possible.

4) The tanks in the game are no longer the lumbering warmachines of the previous version either. They now move closer to the speed of the jeeps or the armoured cars. This I am sure would ease the frustration that a lot of people find in controling these vehicles. The also have a new "auto-centering" feature whereby you can press "SPACE" and have the bottom of the tank turn to the direction the turret gun is facing.

5) In another effort to increase the realism of the game, a sniper can now hold his breath for a few seconds to steady his weapon before firing. Not only this but all the weapons seem to be more stable and accurate thereby balancing the various teams in the multiplayer and lest I should forget all teams now have a newly selectable weapon in the form of a shotgun.

6) This brings me to my biggest problem with the game thus far (and really the only one that I fin difficult to overlook). Even though in singleplayer mode you can carry 2 weapons, in multiplayer mode you are only allowed 1 !!! WTF? What is even worse is that the handgun is now treated as a primary weapon in both SP and MP so you don't even have that as a backup if you picked a sniper. So much for the enhanced realism.

Evenso, the game is still very enjoyable and a few of the old favorite stages have been given a facelift. Be sure to check out the new Carentan and Brecourt. Judging by what I have played so far (more than 70% of the game) COD 2 is well worth it but just be mindfull of the above differences between COD 2 and COD UO.

One more note, since by default you select between your primary and secondary weapons by pressing "1 or 2" instead of scrolling, you might want to rebind that function to the scroll wheel. Be sure to set both "MOUSEWHEELUP" and "MOUSEWHEELDOWN".

Now go out and have fun comrads and if you have not yet acquired a copy then shame on you but you can always come down to Fantasy where we will be sweating COD 2 from tomorrow.

Nice notes about the differences there. Haven't tried the multi yet, still runnin through the single player goodness. Already on the American campaign but wishing I were still near the beginning cos I don't want this game to done. But ah well, all good things must come to an end sometime...I've still got Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood to play after anyways...

I in the American Campaign too.

Beaumont Hague France.

I'm playing on veteran but the game has only seemed moderately difficult up until now.
This mission is a pain in the butt but I am getting through it.

I will finish it in the morning before I head down to Fantasy to run it on the LAN.

Finished it off last night about 2am...the Hill 400 missions were the most difficult in the game, and perhaps the most exciting...I've never seen that many grenades tossed at me in one go

Hill 400 was also one of the few times that I found myself running out of ammo and having to hit those nazi bastids with the gun butt...there were just so many of them!

Hope they make a COD3
