Drop in TSTT bandwidth?
« on: September 23, 2005, 01:19:33 PM »

Well...firstly, I dont know if this is in the right place, so please forgive me if its not...

But yea, usually I would get about a 256k download from tstt ADSL, but as of about early yesterday, the ADSL has been acting rather....laggy and strange, dont know why.... I just did a bandwith test and it came about it 160k or there about...

:( anyone else having this problem?

well at least yours was working.

DSL was down here for most of yesterday.

Being home sick, it left me bored out of my wits.

Started counting cobwebs on the ceiling inbetween sleep.

anyway, it is back in action today.

Check out the speed.

Your current bandwidth reading is:

279.90kbps

which means you can download at 34.99 KB/sec. from our servers.

They been givin us beans since Monday...up & down...slow & not so slow...pressah!

Of course they have no idea what the problem is, they jus know that some of their customers are experiencing something.

To go from 1.54mbit to <56kbit is real stress...men sittin down whole day jes cussin TSTT left & right...cyah even check mail self.

We got them to send out some cable repair peeps and they changed some "feeder" and now we back up...not full 1.54mbit, but acceptable enough to conduct some downloads :)

TSTT fooling around with their network stuff... i don't see how this could be relatedal the cable for copper we don't get cut off the net  , and at distances  ADSL is limited  to 512 k anyway .  to  a bandwidth upgrade unless they hired some outside contracters from green dot to 'help them out'    ,
512 k from tstt  is inevetable, just a question of when  , and hopefully they will keep up with a regular yearly bandwidth double .. so by 2007 we rocking at 2 mbits  , also hopefully TSTT will expand its broadband coverage with next gen 3G networks or Wi-Max soon , so bushmen can get high speed  ,when rastas steal the copper we don't get cut off the net,  and DSL is limited by phone line quality and noise  , at distances people barely get 128 k .

Is the 512 upgrade just a rumor or is there some fact to it?
