Christian School Expels Daughter of Lesbians

A 14-year-old student was expelled from a Christian school because her parents are lesbians.

Shay Clark was expelled from Ontario [California] Christian School on Thursday.

"Your family does not meet the policies of admission," Superintendent Leonard Stob wrote to Tina Clark, the girl's biological mother.

Stob wrote that school policy requires that at least one parent may not engage in practices "immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style, such as cohabitating without marriage or in a homosexual relationship."

Shay and her parents said they won't fight the ruling.

School administrators learned of the parents' relationship this week after Shay was reprimanded for talking to the crowd during a football game.

Clark and her partner have been together 22 years and have two other daughters, ages 9 and 19.

Personally I have nothing against homosexuals, matter of fact I know some (dont lime with them much tho). I dont exactly approve of their lifestyle, I mean, i have nothing against it.... Its just not for me. But its when they start doing stuff like having kids...it gets o_O WTF!?

Ok for me the lifestyle is not one that I accept but I can't blame the children of these couples or punish them for the path that their parents chose. 

I can understand that the school promotes certain values and chose to expel the student; but it is not right to deny this child an education especially if nothing disruptive has occurred to warrant expulsion. 

Values are one thing but discrimination is another; and that is what that school administration did.  They hid behind their policies using it as a smokescreen for discrimination.

Also consider this is a 'christian' school.. last I checked 'christians' followed the teachings of Christ and he accepted all manner of humans that most considered below worthy (prostitutes, tax collectors etc). Interesting how they use religion and moral as a screen to what is discrimination which is a clear and defined defiance of Christ's teachings... and they wonder why ppl have problems with religion... religion is not the problem, its the MORONS in charge that give it a bad image... i'm chistian btw and though I do not think its 'right' according to what i've been taught, I do not believe that these children should have to pay for their parents 'shortcomings'. Please note the use of the '' as they are intended to illustrate its loose usage.

Someone once said that "Religion is the Opium of the masses"

I am surprised that there has not been a lot more comments on this topic...basically religion nowadays is just a tool to control people, some people go to church every week like drones just sitting there while their minds are lulled into acceptance. 

Look at the power of some religious denominations, yet there is so much corruption and discrimination in their ranks.  Look at the recent spate of allegations against some religions and the principles of others. 

They had the power to expel this child for the parents' lifestyle, cloaked in their religious autonomy...

But then again someone else said...that a person is smart, people are not...

Jesus didn't turn anybody away, so why should they?

Besides which, a person's personal life should be none of their business.
Now, if she was sexually harassing her female friends in the school and constantly getting into trouble, I can understand, but she was expelled just because she happens to be the daughter of lesbian parents. Isn't that sort of tantamount to racist mentality?

Prejudice is the worst kind of hate out there, and the reasonw hy im calling it hate is no matter what, it always leads back to hate. Unfortunatly for me, I can not speak from a religious aspect since I dont really have one to speak of, but I still do think that this is unfair regardless. Kinda reminds me how awhile back a little boy was expelled from school because he had a ras...
