Fastest integrated in the west , Geforce 6100 and 6150 for AMD

 Finally an integrated motherboard solution thats worth its salt ,  low end gamers can actually be happy with this , its faster than Geforce MX and low end Geforce Fx 5200 cards ,  albiet it needs a good bit of system RAM to work .  It beats the Intel and ATi solutions easily , also offering sm3.0 support than both lack .  Combined with solid nvidia nortbridge and soutbridge chips , we have an all round good performer, perfect platform for a barebones system , or for someone like me who wants to  ugrade to A64 / Pci-X and wait for new video cards to drop in price .

Despite the fact that serious gamers would find any integrated graphics board far too limiting, the great majority of boards that are used in systems are integrated graphics boards. In our head-to-head competition with the ATI RS480, the current integrated performance king, the bottom-of - the-line 6100 outperformed the ATI in almost every benchmark. That certainly means that the 6150, clocked at 475MHz instead of the 6100's 425, should perform even better.

 Of Course i would have to stick to old school games eg. Counterstrike 1.6 , or play new ones at lowest settings, but it will be acceptable for a few months , more so than blowing 50 USD on an x300SE that is no faster and i will throw out when i get my X1600 XT or 7600 GT....

  thats doom 3 at lowest settings ,Doom and any new game with tons of textures will kill an integrated system unless you have 2 gigs of dual ddr or so ...  but it plays significantly better than any previous integrated solution, and we have yet to see the faster incarnation... plus they are likely to be overclockable .....
  Ati is supposed to retaliate with a 4 pipe integrated part or a super clocked chip later this year , currant ATI RS480 speed is 2 pipelines times 350mhz , vs  2 pipelines times 425mhz and 475mhz for the nvidias .    2 pipelines is voodoo 3 and TNT day performance , only thing that saves these chips is high clock speed and tons of Dual DDR memory bandwidth ...

There was a time, not so long ago, that onboard solutions wouldn't even play Quake 3.

At all. It won't even start. lol

The Geforce4 MX won't run Battlefield 2 either, without a hack.

This integrated solution can actual push these games.

Not at a 6600 GT level of course, but definitely good enough for the casual gamer that may dabble in the odd need for speed or sims 2 session.

  these integ cards should be about 1/5th the speed of a 6600gt , around Geforce 3, 5200 and 9600SE speed , thats acceptable performance considering most of trinidad running those cards or worse .
  5200 : 250mhz  * 4 pixel pipes = 1000 megapixels ,
    128mb 400mhz DDR  3.2 GB/S with 64 bit memory  ,  6.4 GB/S with 128 bit memory
   Vs
 Geforce 6150 : 475mhz * 2 pixel pipes =  950 megapixels
  6.4 Gb/S with dual channel DDR 400 ,
   8 GB/S with dual channel DDR 500 ( a64 Venice and dual core  supports these as a standard) .
 
 pretty damned close performance ,  Nvidia and Ati are bringing in a new era of integrated cards , designed to push the low end enough to play newer games without hassle  , a shot in the arm for the gaming industry considering how many integrated systems will be made with these , Intel is contracting ATI chips for their integrated business, possibly we will see intel bring out a new design or  use the ATI integrated system  instead of theirs .

I was waiting for someone to post on this topic. So it get's a thumbs up for gamers? Yeah it's supposed to be a "low-end" board but I mean, GeForce 6 series... on board... wow! I'll be able to play some of the more recent games, albeit on low settings, but the main point is, I can play it....

socket 939 too, that means, AMD Athlon64 X2 right?
too bad it didn't use DDR2 RAM

but a system with 4x512DDR memory should handle things well...
At least until one can afford a new PCIe GPU (i.e. 7800GTX)
