Where'd you buy your psp from? How much did it cost you?

i've got:
NFS: Underground Rivals (UMD)
Dead To Rights (Ripped UMD)
Lumines (Ripped UMD)
Smart Bomb (Ripped UMD)
and a bunch of Snes roms.

Trying to get windows 95 to run on it atm.

Kinda hard to fit 'em all on a 128MB MS though, fnckin' memory sticks are so damn expensive here! paid $400 for my 128. It's a piss poor state of affairs i tell ya.

Well it cost me $250 US and I bought it at Circuit City. I live and work in NY.

Too bad we dont all live in NY, i paid almost double that for mine when converted to US, yeah i know thats fnck up but what hell, think it was worth it in the end. Pretty much got my money back from d/l'in ripped games when i think about it.

Do you follow up on the homebrew scene with the emulators and stuff? Things like that make it worth the money if u ask me.

Havnt been able to get to an access point thus far, so can't really say. my guess is that it shouldnt be a prob once ur on a decent highspeed connection. As for not updating the firmware for online gaming, i believe it doesnt make a diff at this point. Right now its just a way for sony to stop ppl from running unsigned code on the psp (emulators, ISOs, etc). Word is that their going to start making it a requirement for u to update to the latest firmware in order to play future games (online or offline). But some guy somewhere is gonna find a way around that, without a doubt.

Dam, and I was gonna get on, but I eventually settled on a 20 gig I-pod. If i knew about all the magical stuff with the ps3, then I would have gotten a psp for sure....sigh....

But is it worth it though? Having a PSP........

its all about what you want to do with it. Its pretty versatile

It is worth it definitely, being able to play multiplayer online on a router at home is great. It pays to have cable internet (10x faster than DSL anyday)

As for the updates, hackers always find ways around those. I have both a 20 GB iPod and a PSP, I think the PSP isn't that great for portable music seeing as though to really have alot of songs on the go, you have to dish out another $200 for 1 GB memory stick. I say Sony needs to build a hard drive into the PSP to really attract music lovers to it. But that's just my 2 cents.

well all i know is that a psp emulator for pc an xbox is comin on the 5 of october so there will be no need to buy real psp so all i have to do is go to my sources for psp games an am good to go haha

well the charm in the handheld systems is not it's game titles but rather it's mobility.

since most of the games can be found in bigger, better fashion on the traditional console platforms.

again, here is where Nintendo will have the competition beat, as in the Nintendo DS not only brings mobility, but also that funky touch screen ability.

Near impossible to recreate with an emu short of having people purchase digitizers/laptops with touch pads or run them on smartphones/palm pilots/p900s (which surely lack the horsepower to render the games)

Still it will be cool for the psp exclusive titles. Just as the GBA emu proved useful for the Pokemon freaks out there. Some of the best Pokemon games were only on the handheld systems. Go figure.

i have a psp preplayed from ebgames. Havent touched the thing or even openend it as yet, I bought two games untold legneds and coded arms..maybe ill play with it soon but for now DS<i dont own it yet>

i doh have one, but meh neighbour ha one. he have nfs underground rivals. d graphics real good an ting, but ah doh really like d feel of d analog stick. yuh does have to push it too hard an den it does end up goin too far. but d graphics rel sweet. better dan d DS. d other thing is, d battery life. GOOD LORD!!!, d battery life rel short. after 2 hours approx. of bunnin game, yuh does have 2 recharge.
