actually it doesn't , but its best played online , you can haxor it to set up a LAN server, or play by yourself , but the real experience comes from playing on blizzard servers with thousands of people , otherwise the game is dry and boring .

lol
yeah, but wow is like the third most played game on the planet right now.
so you can't go wrong with the US$15.00
Using the LAN server is fine for playing around and getting a taste of the game.
Throw in a few buddies and you'll have a good time.
Get yourself online and you won't want to stop for a few months well, if not more. lol
A few gatt men around here can testify to that.
I was in the beta of WoW and can attest as well. It wtfpwned.
If the us$15 a month is too much for you though, then head to GuildWars.
It is another top morpg but doesn't carry a monthly fee.

your hearing lineage 2 is the best from hardcore lineage fans , actually WoW has alot more content and stuff to do than lineage , better graphics etc. but the gameplay in either is very similar . Guild wars is more for those who hate Lineage/WoW/Everquest style gameplay .

Ive never played WoW
HMMMM how does one play WoW offline?
is it that the game spawns characters if there are no players ?
or do you take a lonely road alone with only monsters and NPCs?

Hey lemme clear this up for you, I play both.
Guild Wars can only be played online however most quests can be done with henchmen (bots) but it is boring doing that and the AI is kinda lacking as well. Even if you were to use henchmen however you still need to login to the server to play.
The nice thing about Guild Wars is that there is no monthly fee and you can level up really fast. It is pretty easy to learn and has a decent player vs player component.
However it isn't a true Massively Multiplayer game, yeah you do have alot of people playing but when you go questing you get your own instance and it maxes out with 8 human players in your party. So it does not give you that "Massive" feel once you leave the main towns.
I believe WoW has alot more depth since you are paying for continued additions to the game, whereas Guild Wars really gets their revenue from the addons that wil be coming out later on.
I would advise to do what I did. Buy Guild Wars now and see if you like it, play it thru and if u get bored after beating the game/playin thru pvp then think about WoW. You can always try out WoW at a friend's place or something.
Yeah the monthly fee is a bitch but they doh call it WarCRACK for nuthin...
