buy an x700 or 6600 for 100 us   and wait 6-8  months for the R520 and 7800 to drop in price , you'll save more money than the  value of the x700 and have alot more options to choose from .
OCZ ram for what ? overclocking ?  i wouldn't trust anything else but OCZ to do high FSBs at 1:1 ratio , but for normal use corsair , GEIL and crucial are fine .
DFI motherboard for overclocking definately , they are legendary in their bios options and regular updates , a good board will reach 400mhz FSB ,  but for a budget board the MSI is nice.. also there is a budget DFI board going for 100 us  with much better overclockability than the msi .

You can look at some Patriot RAM, they got PC3200 2-2-2-5 1T or 2-3-2-5 1T at reasonable prices plus the lower latency of the two is TCCD memory so its good stuff. Its also cheaper than the OCZ. As for mobos, i'd advise you to go with the DFI Lanparty or an Abit Fatal1ty board f (LOOK FOR AN SLI board since the new drivers should eliminate need to get totally identical cards so u can upgrade later on) for ur venice core baby. The Video is a bit of a quandry though... sure u could but the 7800GTX... but Trini is right and in a few months ATI will release their offering and prices across the board should drop a bit. But hey if u have the cash by all means, like yuhself, in the end is only yuhself yuh have to please.

venice is the best core out , SSE3 and silicon techniques that boost clock speeds by 15% , the Athlon FX 57 is a venice core with a pile of cache added .

In 7-8 months, you'll prolly be looking at some new games anyway. The middle of the road vidcard from 3 years ago, the 9500 is still usable for most games. you get a top end card now like the 7800 you'll be fine. Wait a while for it to drop a little, but 7-8 months?

Cut back on the proc if you must, and for ram, dont bother with cas 2 honesly there's no noticable difference (just dont bother with any memory with latencies at 4) and you pay a huge premium. $80 for a gig.
:P random text doesn't go out of date does it?

Well thats what I have an Epox, although to be honest it didn't work right out of the box... still not sure why it just started to work, but I do suspect something to do with the dimm slots I was using at the time... and well its not the prettiest board, BUT it does do nice things like make the AGP port 1 port higher than normally so u have no PCI slot directly below ur AGP (even though it has the full 5 PCI ports) so u can use a dual slot cooling solution video card without losing PCI slots.
