Consoles vs PC's

Hoss... I've just been informed of a company out of Malaysia, touting their development of PC based Consoles. Which in actuallity is a Console with a PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse Port Mod..... The cost of this is just above the cost of what you'll pay for a new sony ps2 console......

They also claim that the consoles (sold exclusively by them of course) will out perform the latest available PC of similar specs in all benchmark performances........

Now I know their was some posting of something similar on the internet earlier this year, but it was apperently shot down by some "un-named individuals...."

I myself don't think that PC's will ever be replaced by the Console EVER since I do so much more with my PC compaired to just gaming on my Console....... It's just a crazy abomination.... A kinda of  Dr Frankenstein effort by Console manufacturers to woo PC users to the dark side

The line between the two will continue to blur, but it will be a long time before consoles disappear. They offer a different experience to a PC, and you would not typically use a console for PC functionality.

A console "PC" however is not unheard of. Remember the hard drive bay for the PS2, network adapter, install linux and drop in USB keyboard and mouse? It's nothing new.

 Console Pcs are nothing new,  people have hacked the Xbox , installed Linux and used 10 of them on a network to render 3d.  Consoles have always outpaced Pcs for the first few months of their release ,  This new batch of consoles look like they will overtake Pcs for several years, the Xbox 360 with 3 processors and the PS3 with 8 , while quad core chips are not set to be released until 2007 .
  Consoles will never replace Pcs...  They aren't upgradeable and the manufacturer doesn't make nearly as much profit as with a PC .
