I believe that Arima is the most 'borin' place ever. there is a lot of raw, hardcore gamers in arima who are always looking foward 2 a game tournament in this mofo place, but as you can see there are none! The only gatt location i know of in arima is the worst cafe ever. the PCs aren't 'good' enough to play any good games. It is the worst.
I would like 2 host a tournament or even a sweat in this mofo place i call home. I would like your support. Futher details would be poasted....

Oh yeh dont say 'why we just dont go some where that have a sweat'. Because of time and other reasons..

I think that is his point!

He wants the GL beefed up so it is sweat worthy!

We have tried approaching management on this sort of thing before but we can't drop the ball. Constant pressure idmc to up the standard.

Do you have any recommendations?

proxy management idmc. They done spend de dollars, but we could make it worth theirs and the gamer's wild.

The main problem in arima gl's is worthy machines , only a few of the machines are up to spec eg. 512mb , little or no spyware , Geforce 4 mx ( 5200 are slow no ass ! ) , the rest either have spyware and popups to hell with 256mb , 5200 or integ = lag to hell . Sweat is no fun if you have no sound and you are lagging in Sof2 or warcraft at 640x480 , or have a pr0n window popping up regurlalry and forcing game into window !
The second problem is getting control of the cafe for the sweat and keeping out n00bs/people who want to surf .
Best we have it in Virtual zone and allow BYOC + discount for sweat .

Aight ppl

the posts swarming around this mis-management
and lack of proper machines
may be coming to an end wit the prospect of a new spot to sweat in Arima
machines that can and will push the games we all love

specs ~ Athlon Xp 2600+
512 MB DDR ram
ATI Radeon 9600 pro
80 GB HDD
Optical mice + regular keyboards
( gonna do 12 comps + BYOC spots )

i said prospective because
i am willing to put the money out for the right equipment
i already have hardware quoted above

problems as of this moment

getting a contact in TT that can guarantee 17" monitors at a good price
location

ONLY 12 COMPS WILL BE BUILT RIGHT NOW, BUT I HAVE HARDWARE FOR 20 {minus vid card}

well you're in the right place.

We can arrange for a GATT GL to get good monitors at a good price, no problem.

17" CRTs?

Location need not be an issue. Why not offer the machines to the current GLs in Arima. Either as expansion to their current setup or as upgrades?

Getting the gamers to assist with running the machines is key. Upgraded games and more idmc.

we also have to look at PROTECTION!
new machines with spyware = same problem

we did our security n stick to it thats how we survive spyware attacks

That problem is easily fixed

Using the rite programs regularly is essential

good way to stop pop ups from net surfing is by using alternative browsers

and installed trackers that do popups will be taken care of by programs also
