Lol man if you can actually provoke people by bashing a console then those said people need to lighten up. We are talking about video game consoles here not a first born :p

Anyone here on GATT actually has a Kinect yet? Impressions? Does it actually understand our trini accent? lol

Yeah for real, same thing I find for PS3, I ended up canceling my Move order since I wasn't too impressed with the current lineup. Will look at it again in a few months.

which is why i takin mine next year feb before kz3 drops so i have it by then to use with that and s4 as well as games like sorcery

sad to say that i might hadda go with d bundle as amazon move controllers sold out a while now an i not payin no 70US from no "other seller" they cud hdmc

@ arc if it does that make a video i wanna see that shit lol

Yeah I'll pick it up sometime for sure but I don't want Sports Champions to be the only game I get, since I can see myself getting bored of that very quickly hehe.

In contrast to what a wizards underling (I wonder who will catch that) said not so long ago about me being one sided, I have in the past stated that it was my belief that the PS3 would win the current 'next-gen' console war, because of it's Blu-ray and media centric design. News like what i'm about to put though does make me wonder though.

Xbox 360 set to be 2010's best-selling console in the US
By Ben Kuchera | Last updated about 5 hours ago
The Nintendo DS was the best-selling hardware for October, according to the NPD sales information for the US. The Xbox 360 came in second place, but that's OK. "The Xbox 360 has generated the most unit sales among the console platforms on a year-to-date basis as of this month," NPD analyst Anita Frazier said. "The Nintendo DS remains the best-selling hardware system, overall."

While the NPD Group no longer shares specific information for each system, Microsoft let us know that it sold 325,000 Xbox 360s, up 30 percent from 2009. "During the month, Xbox 360 secured six of the top 10 console game titles, including the top four titles overall, a feat never-before accomplished by a current-generation console," Microsoft announced. That's a pretty good way to head into the holiday season.

Those titles, in order, were:

NBA 2K11
Fallout: New Vegas
Medal of Honor
Fable III
Just in case that isn't enough good news, over one million Kinect units have been sold to date worldwide, which puts Microsoft well within range of its 5 million unit goal for the year. That's not shipped, that's not sold to retailers, that's actual consumer spending. Not a bad launch for a new piece of hardware.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops having just launched—a game that has historically performed very well on the 360, not to mention the fact that upcoming content will be a timed exclusive for Microsoft—and the Kinect bundles looking like they'll be a hot item for Christmas, it should be easy to keep the momentum going.

Sony and Nintendo have not shared any sales information with the press.

...and I have said it before and I will keep saying it:  Xbox Live is the cocaine which keeps bringing people back, or bringing people in.  No matter the mis-steps, or downright gaffes by M$, nothing can diminish the juggernaut that is Xbox Live.  It has become the de facto standard for a console online service, against which all others are now measured.  some of the stuff I don't like, or even care about, but when you want to just 'jump in', and shoot/fight/drive/play against some friends, its just that much easier.

After nearly six years everyone else still playing catch-up.

Well said arc, also note MS all encompassing strategy, the Windows Phone 7 links to XBL, how long do you think before they start bringing simple 'flash like' games to the phone which link to your 360 XBL profile so you can 'score' on the go?
They ain't stupid enough to rest on they laurels, they'll keep on developing and raising the ante so that the comp won't catch up anytime too soon.

Consider:
Current worldwide sales estimates put -
Xbox 360 @ 44.9Mil
Ps3 @ 41.1Mil
360 sold about 5-6million units in its year headstart.

Xbox 360 will reign supreme in the American market definitely, but the bigger picture is what matters. Its a very small lead, and maybe can be maintained by Xbox but we'll see in future.

Oh btw we discussed the local prices of PS3s, anyone saw the Kinect Bundle selling locally yet? Price?

Raptor on Trinituner is gonna sell the Kinect sensor this month @ $1500. Haven't seen it at any stores yet though.

Ent new games in movietowne are 475?

I was asking about kinect bundle locally since we realize that buying a PS3 locally works out to pretty much the same as shipping it in with duties. Some places have the PS3 at a reasonable price.

Check out the vids in the following article. They're all done using the 'hacked' kinect, though MS has officially stated it's not 'hacked' merely an open policy on the USB port whereby ppl can write open source drivers to use the kinect for their own software. Really interesting stuff and if you're good with programming, you could very well catch MS eye and get hired imho or even a game developed based on your idea.

Just as a teaser, check out this video from the article:
