The D-pad on the existing 360 controllers is, to put it mildly, utter garbage. If you want to play any games relying on precise movements, such as fighting games, buying a third-party controller is a requirement. Microsoft hopes it has this problem licked, however, and is releasing a controller with a new, updated D-pad on November 9. The catch? You won't be able to buy the controller alone; you'll need to grab the Play and Charge Kit to get it, and the final cost will be $64.99. Here is the controller, complete with transforming D-pad.
Wow...not cool M$.I've actually been using XBL less and less over the years. Some of the 'extra' stuffthat M$ has added to XBL recently I just don't use, but I guess that all users wouldhave been forced to accept a price hike at some point. Word is that the 'Hulu' videoservice (which by itself is 10 US) is the cause of this price increase. Others say that it may be a pre-emptive move to recoup imminent Kinect losses. Either way, this isn't going to go down well with the masses.The timing of this is very bad. The last thing you want to do in a 'recession' is raise prices...especially if you can't really justify what direct benefits your customers are getting for that extra 10 dollars.
Outta curiousity... why would you WANT to buy the 4GB? I have the run of the mill 20GB and as it is I am out of space with addons, demos, vids, etc...
even if you won't use it, it's still good to have it. Especially with the increasing size/quality of XBLA games, it's not uncommon to find those titles being over 900mb these days.
I dunno, me personally if I going 360, I'm getting my hard drive space.Yes I won't be using it for media since I already do that on PS3.But for things like game installs, updates and even If I end up using it for media, I'd like to have that space and no hassle of buying a new drive, or turning the ps3 on to get the media there.
