Don't buy MS/PSN points cards on Amazon.  You end up spending much more than what they're worth to buy and ship.

OK, I stand corrected.  I checked it myself...Amazon actually shows you the code when you purchase it.
This is great, because I actually purchased a physical point card and shipped it myself, and had to pay
a setta extra money in VAT/duty...but that was in late 2007.

^no amazon is selling you the code from the site...probably by email...so a very viable option now.
And tried maximuscards the other day for an itunes card... worked flawlessly.

You may have seen stories going around lately about a supposed "E74" error that seemed to be on the rise among Xbox 360 owners. Apparently this sort of error has been going on for awhile now, but since it wasn't the famed "red ring" error, it was subject to the standard, shorter warranty, and not the three-year extension offered to red rings.

Apparently Microsoft did a bit of research into the situation--or saw that there was mounting pressure online about the frequency of these new E74 errors--and decided to do something about it. Today, the company announced that E74 is now covered by the same extended warranty that covers the old red ring hardware failures. Why? Because the E74 error can supposedly be triggered by the same general hardware failure that causes the rings. Whoops.

The good news is that anyone who has previously paid for repairs on an Xbox 360 that had gone E74 will be reimbursed. More details are available directly from Microsoft.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Why can't they just fix the issues so that it will not happen on new units.

so I am going to buy an arcade edition 360 @ $199USD.
I'm getting a HD for free from a friend of mine who has 2 (his first 360 got RROD and he just ended up buying another).

AS for games, I'm thinking i have high speed net now so i might as well invest in Live capable games.

Gears of War 2, Street Fighter 4.... and maybe a racing title, both Forza 2 and Burnout Paradise are on sale for around $20usd on amazon, any suggestions as to which of the 2 i should grab?

I believe Burnout Paradise might be more worthwhile as a couple people on here have it..Foz, Agokillya?

Forza 2 is stellar, almost sim-like in its driving physics.  The damage modeling is bettered only by Grid.

Burnout's driving physics are a lot more 'forgiving'.  You might actually have more fun with that one.
