Price cut coming for SURE now.

from Planet Xbox 360:
Quote
Xbox 360 Price Drop Coming
by Matt Gibbs

Microsoft has said they will be lowering the price of the Xbox 360, however it won't be a E3, as rumors suggested.

As reported by Bloomberg, Shame Kim, who is VP of Microsoft Game Studios, has said that they will be lowering the Xbox 360's prices to increase sales and lure customers who otherwise normally wouldn't be interested in traditional video games.

"We need to compete effectively for that customer and part of that is getting to the mass market price point for the console," said Kim. "We definitely are working on that area."

If the Playstation 3 is struggling to keep up now, let's see how they do with a Xbox 360 price cut. Especially since we are so early into the lifecycle of the former.

Thank god for COMPETITION...

I am sure PS3 fanboys will surely rejoice at this one:
Quote
All 11.6 million Xbox 360s are faulty

Volish confessions

By Nick Farrell: Thursday 12 July 2007, 07:38
MICROSOFT HAS admitted that all the 11.6 million faulty Xbox 360s sold in the last 19 months are faulty.

In a statement, Volish spinsters said that all of the consoles suffer from a design flaw which could cause the machine to fail.

However, the outfit said that while it is extending the warranty coverage from one to three years to compensate consumers, it had no plans to recall or exchange the boxes.

Volish gaming supremo Robbie Bach refused to say what the problem is, but said that units currently in stock will be upgraded.

That controller is sweet indeed, but I'm still not sure if its worth buying JUST for that game.
I would have preferred a flightstick/throttle combo that will work with the Xbox 360 console AND the PC.

I know it can be done.  The big question is IF it will be...

On another note:

After seeing trailers/gameplay for Mercenaries 2, and Star Wars: Force Unleashed, I'll have too happily add
those titles to my 'games I MUST have list'.  Oh yeah, and Resident Evil 5.

Whew...owning a 360 just got a WHOLE lot better.  All Microsoft needs now to 'sweeten the pot' is to drop
the MSRP on all new games from $60 US to $50 US.  Now THAT would make more sense than a console price drop.

Well.....If the current WIRED Xbox 360 Controller is usable on a PC, then why not this Flight Stick and Throttle? It is a USB Connection, so I doh see why not.. :sunny:

I cannot believe it ... I am now a statistic. My 360 has been the victim of 3 flashing red lights. I just got off the phone with customer support and they will be sending me a shipping box. Un-#@#$@@-believable. I hope I get back a working system. All I wanted was to play some Guitar Hero II ...

EBgames Australia issues 360 recall.

http://kotaku.com/gaming/two-weeks/eb-games-australia-issues-total-360-recall-278562.php

"EB Games Australia have issued a recall on their Xbox 360s. Not just their own personal display or demo units. Every single Premium Xbox 360 they had in-stock. Sources within the company have confirmed that two weeks ago (approx June 29) store managers were first asked by Head Office to test every unit in-stock for errors, but were then ordered last week to return their entire inventories of the console, as well as remove all 360 promotional material and dummy boxes from their stores. The recall is believed to be due to a faulty batch of HDDs, as it did not include Core units.

EB Games' local online store currently lists all Premium 360 bundles at all stores as "sold out". New, quality-assured shipments of consoles should have reached the company's Queensland HQ by Monday, and will have turned up in most stores across Australia by Wednesday. Like my mum always says, better safe than sorry!"
