If I remember correctly, I actually opened mine and swapped it out for a known working card but it still failed to register.I am pretty sure that's what I did but for the life of me, I can't remember 100%. I'll ask a pardner and see if he remembers as he was helping me with the issue.
Microsoft replacing older 360s damaged by new firmware updateBy Andrew Webster | Published about 3 hours agoIt seems that the latest Xbox 360 firmware update isn't compatible with all versions of the console, as a small number users reportedly cannot play games on their systems after updating. To make up for this, Microsoft has confirmed that it will be replacing consoles for those affected."Following a recent update to our system software, we have become aware of an issue that is preventing a very small number of Xbox 360 owners from playing retail game discs," a Microsoft representative told Eurogamer. "This issue manifests itself a as a unique 'disc unreadable' or 'disc unsupported' error on the screen. We are also able to detect this issue over Xbox Live and are proactively reaching out to customers that may be impacted to replace their console."Those affected are urged to contact Microsoft in order to confirm that their consoles need replacement. The new firmware is designed to support a new, updated disc format for the 360, which reportedly adds up to 1GB of usable data to Xbox discs. Microsoft will be replacing the outdated consoles with new 250GB slim 360s, and users will also be given one free year of Xbox Live to make up for the inconvenience.
LOL @ 'inconvenience'. Now THAT is customer service.Meanwhile...a pardner of mine whose 40GB PS3 unexpectedly YLOD'ed2 weeks ago gets nothing more than a 'hard luck, buy another' from Sony.
Clearing up some confusionClarification time! The console replacement plan that is the subject of some of today’s headlines is related to a previous update, NOT the system update that has been in public beta and will be deployed shortly. The new disc format that is part of the beta has been rigorously tested across all Xbox 360 models and there are no known compatibility issues.Hope that clears a few things up.Xbox 360 By Larry Hryb, Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson
Just bought a kinect (early father's day present) and while setting it up on the xbox 360S, noticed that xbox live is offering a month for $1 again.Checked online and some lucky gamers were able to use this deal for multiple months. One claims to have gotten as much as 36 months at a $1 each. Madness.Anyone from GATT got in on the action?I'm tempted to try it. I mean for a $1.00, you can't really go wrong. It supposedly adds the time on to your existing subscription if you have one (which we do, with about 7 months left I think)
lol, done know.Dance Central 2 for the misses birthday ftwWe run some heavy Kinect adventures last night. Consensus is that the Wii is no match for Microsoft's offering. And this from a household of nintendo fans. They come real goodCan't wait to see Kinect Sports in action
