I plan on getting the Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle though I lowering my expectations for Kinect. I hope it works well regardless of the limitations :p

http://news.idealo.co.uk/news/8608/kinect-wont-work-unless-your-room-is-clean-quiet-and-spacious.html

Quote
Kinect has heard grumbles from people over its high pricing, and failure to work correctly. Now MS have essentially confirmed that the picky Kinect can’t function well in messy, loud, or poorly lit environments – which basically describes 90% of the gaming rooms out there. read more

And well they discuss the advantages of the Move here, though the site is biased towards PS3...sixthaxis hehe. Different crowds I guess casual vs. hardcore? It's too bad the Move Starter Bundle didn't also come with a navigation controller.

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2010/09/16/5-ways-move-beats-kinect/

Quote
If you’re like us you’ll already be swinging Move controllers around your head  in an effort to slay your foes, defeat your opponents and otherwise claim victory in the digital playground. But it’s not all about Sony, Microsoft’s pitch at the motion-control market is looming on the horizon and there has been heated debate over which is best. Who will “beat” who? We think it’s all a matter of perspective…

Tho I know allyuh will want one of these :p

http://www.inquisitr.com/85415/china-to-see-release-of-kinect-clone-microsoft-looks-on-bemused/

Quote
In China, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and the other major consoles are effectively banned, and are only sold on the country’s gray market.

In their place, a bunch of zany home-made consoles have emerged from China-based entrepreneurs. Hence, while the rest of the world has the Nintendo Wii, China has the Vii, and also the Wü. And, just as many of us will be able to purchase Microsoft’s hands-free Kinect controller from November, Chinese gamers will get the EBox.

… Sorry?

Well, the EBox is yet another homegrown Chinese game platform that, like another console I could mention, will provide users with a controller-free experience when it debuts in early-2011.

Lol FPS on Kinect is going to be so great. Nah but this looks like an early tech demo, so hopefully it'll be more fun than this. Look the man get frustrated and walk off.......

rofl @ fps on kinect

I've never had high hopes for anything like that. Best I'd wish for is a throw back to the glory days of the nintendo light gun and Duck Hunt.

Now that was good eatin'

The kinect will score with the Dance and Fitness games I've seen thus far. No doubt.

Gonna give the Wii a good run.

well he has one problem in his theory, Wii gamers aren't there for the accuracy.

They're there cause it cheap and fun.

once it remains cheap and fun, nintendo safe.

Move = twice the $$ investment

Hard core gamers like us will appreciate it though

Definitely getting one (most likely the kinect) for the misses come Christmas (God willing)

Even though we already have a Wii and Wii Fit.

Yeah true, motion gaming has now gone mainstream. That was one of Wii's unique selling points...
I would say that the Wii is definitely in decline and they need to bring out a new console soon.

http://www.damnlag.com/times-up-nintendo-needs-to-release-a-wii-2/#int1161

Quote
Is it that time of the decade already? Yup, it is, and it couldn’t have come soon enough.

The next generation of video game consoles is coming up like all generational leaps tend to; in a clandestine fashion. Despite the incredibly high quality of titles that have come from the past year, (Super Mario Galaxy 2, Halo: Reach, Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, and God of War 3 on the short list) video game sales are down across the board. With advancements in 3D technology, the dawn of social networking, and motion controls appealing to our species’ growing mass of idiocy, the pieces are all in place for the big three to start all over yet again. Gaming is in need of a reason to get excited, and this is exemplified by severe stagnation of the system that shook the industry four year ago. My friends, the reign of the Nintendo Wii is at its ending. And yes, the doors are locked permanently.

The Wii’s sales are down by 45% on a year-by-year basis. This week last year, the Wii doubled the sales of the Xbox 360. Doubled. This year? The Wii is trailing the 360 by over thirty thousand units. The Wii is in fourth place, behind the DS, the Xbox 360, and even the Playstation 3 (which is kind of like trailing a runner that keeps punching himself in the balls). The Wii’s game library isn’t doing much better. Software sales can be kindly described as “continually lagging,” and accurately described as “laughably terrible.” The console is in a downward spiral, and interest in the system has tumbled from its peak. Now that the Nintendo 3DS is coming out with visuals that can rival the Wii’s, Nintendo must make a change in how they view their system’s hardware. Simply adding the power necessary to keep the Wii afloat via a peripheral would be unbelievably stupid and costly, especially since Nintendo already tried that before with hilarious results:

Just tried out the new Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit demo...and the police pursuit is INTENSE.  Words fail me right now.  You HAVE to download this demo and try it.

Forget the other race.  Just play the hot pursuit one.

I heard from the grapevine that this update will do bad things to 360s that have been "enhanced" will wait a little bit and check posts online to see if it really does.

and you can bet yo sweet azz that there will be a hidden surprise for the 'enhanced'
consoles out there connected to the Live service.

M$ just waiting on the most 'inopportune' time to drop that hammer...

Man I woke up today wanting to play some Fallout New Vegas and totally forgot about the dashboard update.  If I didn't come to my computer to look at some videos I had left loading in youtube(1080p nah) last night I would have gotten a hard back hand slap with a 360 ring on.

UPDATE ON UPDATE (True Story)
« Reply #1678 on: November 01, 2010, 06:44:03 PM »
Ok so I really wanted to run some MW2 online so I did the unthinkable and and updated my dashboard.  Just then I heard a voice thru my 360 something about "roger roger target is locked on coming in for a bombing run"  upon hearing that I immediately ran outside only to see a stealth bomber(the bastard was flying low example of said bomber can be seen in the above post) coming close to my house, instantly I did a back flip and ended up on my roof.  The bomb bays opened what did I see a freaking big ass hammer it fell quick and I didnt know what to do, no time to think I lined it up perfectly and broke that shit with my pinkie... toe thought it was my pinkie finger right.  I let out a sigh of relief as Jackie Chan and Jet Li patted me on the back they said my technique got better all I could say after was "thanks guys."
