Another socket....

How many of these are there really? well since it seems that the newer DC (dual core) cpus won't work with older chipsets (actually it will only work with new ones as opposed to @MDs which will work with a bios flash) there is a new socket for 1ntels dual cores, its LGA771 and heres a look at it

Nasty Intel...making those sad Intellites spend more money to buy a new board to upgrade to dual core...tsk tsk tsk....see, now if you'd bought an AMD rig instead...all you'd be doing is a BIOS update to handle that brand new dual core

This is annoyning, there are too many formats of everything now, it's PATA or SATA or Socket this and Socket that, DDR or SD. This is too much to keep up with!

shame.....     as usual, intel is hating on the poor people . SOCKET  771 !?    MCS ! .........
   Then again AMD hit us the same blow with socket 939/940 etc... but at least they TOLD us that they were going to do it....  
   speaking of multi tasking performance , go over to my dual core benchies thread, and take a look at what a dual core A64 can do, Intel  won't come anywhere near that performance anytime soon  , their chips will be too hot to run at  the 3.6-3.8ghz  needed to match those numbers  
  Lets not forget intel also needs a BTX case  form factor , DDR II RAM , and a PCI-E graphics card, so you can kiss just about your entire system good bye , and have to put out a fortune to upgrade !
 at the end of the day, AMD wins for whoever builds his own PC,  ten times over .

LOL, ROTFL, ROMFAL (Rolls off my fat @$$ laughing) SUPER COOL? LOL, dread what u talking about? Phase cooling? Liquid Nitrogen? Open case with a house fan cooling? PLEASE, save me the sarcasm. On a lighter note. Whatever issues that some motherboard manufacturers have with running the Revision E @MD A64's has been sorted out on the nforce 3 and 4 platforms or will be sorted out very soon by a BIOS update as I mentioned above. Before crixx or some other 1ntellite jump on the @MD bashing bandwagon (which u can't since ur dual core flat out WON'T WORK on UR current boards) the Revision E A64's bring SSE3 instructions and enhanced speedstep (which 1ntel recently tried with its latest revision to cool those toasters called precotts). Oh and the BIOS updates should all be available before the actual product launch in April so

 its stupid to argue over who stole who's technology,  AMD is the one who made the 64 bit extensions that intel are now using,  and even though amd 'stole' SSE / MMX extensions, they are obviously implementing them much better .

actually Intel dual cores uses stock 775 socket , but need a new chipset (amd has memory controller on chip, so chipset doesn't matter  ) . The socket  771 is either for new server chips/mobile chips .... or AMD propoganda .
