I don't think that is a "poor spot" at all (BTW lartes I live 2 minutes walk away from the place).  Considering the structure that was there before they have done an incredible job on that new building.  As I understand the intention, they intend to target 'the family', not just the 'gamer'.  This place should not be compared to SNS (how can you beat SNS for location), as size, gaming options and target seems to be different.
As for the crime being "heavy, especially at night" it's no worse than anywhere else in the country and I've walked that main road at all hours coming home before I had a car (and sometimes even after   ).
I certainly hope they decide to stay and not pack up shop.  There are a few new businesses that have opened within the last 2 years and they seem to be doing a little better than surviving!

I have two questions for you laertes.  Have you been there?  Have you spoken to the owner/operator?
I've asked other GATT members in the vacinity to check it out and report here.  I haven't had any other reports yet!
SplitPsycho, the place is still being completed.  But the possibility exists.
Presonally, I've offered my assistance to the owner if they decide to go in the GL direction.  It would certainly be nice to have a GL close to home but it will also be convenient for some of my future projects.
