Tips for CS 1.6 , CS : source , Ravenshield .

  CS and ravenshield are serious , no nonsense games ,  jumping gets you  killed and you CAN'T jump in raven shield.   Teamplay above all else , stop thinking of yourself and getting kills ,  cover your buddies , especially snipers and bombers /hostage takers .  choose your weapons wisely ,  in closed up maps shotguns and  SMGs  , in open maps assault rifles and snipers .

      a famous CS tactic is to get a specialized weapon eg. Sniper rifle / shotgun , and a powerful pistol and 'quick switch' between them as the situation requires ,  your primary weapon is for extreme short/long range, and the pistol for short/medium range .   I'v seen most 'pros' use this tactic , to great effect ,  it works in almost any situation  , sniper / Desert eagle for large open areas  ,  Shotgun /  USP for closed  up spaces . 
   NEVER forget that CS and raven shield have quite advanced physics ( even CS on the quake 2 engine) compared to other games out there, you can shoot through thin walls and wood , bullet proof glass can be penetrated by a   strong enough rifle/ pistol at close range .  in Raven shield you can make holes in walls and break up doors with enough firepower .   In CS : Source  with a good machine, you can see shadows and reflections around corners  .
       In CS and raven shield, beware of falling,  in raven shield relativly  short distances can seriously injure you, in CS , a damaging fall will also 'freeze' you for a second , making you easy prey for enemies .
    Camping is essential in either game,  as you have objectives to accomplish  most of the time , you can  pick a strategic spot, and wait for enemies , while camping in raven shield , you can get a basic idea of when the enemy is coming with the heartbeat sensor,  also you can plant mines to trap them . 
    One major tip,  move from cover to cover, and consider what you are ducking behind ! Wooden boxes  will only soften bullets , not stop them, and barrels tend to explode / roll away .   in raven shield its best to stay covered and 'lean out' to engage the enemy . 
    The tactical shield  is a menace to all ,  anyone can buy one and sit behind it in relative safety , blocking everything you throw at him , and even when they shoot with it, they still block off an entire side of their body.  To defeat a shield you must either throw a grenade BEHIND the shieldbearer , use accuracy to shoot at his knees/elbows that stick out ,  or wait for  some fool to reload and rush him, or if you can count , count how many bullets he has spent,  each weapon has its own sound so you can get an idea of how much he has,  wait til he has only 2-3 left and rush him . 
   Avoid snipers in CS by using smoke till you can get into position to take him out , or distract him till one of your allies can wipe him out. Smoke in raven shield  works just as well , except  some sniper rifles have a thermal scope , which will spot you in smoke , or behind wooden walls.
       please add any i missed out , and PLEASE let these games FINALLY replace SOF2 !  I HATE IT WITH A VENGEANCE , IT SUCKS !

 its too much to fit on cds... to update it i had to put it into HL2 , thats like 4 gigs.. best you copy it over at the LAN .

That's a friggin no0b post as I've ever seen one first of all u only sayin don't jump cause that's a basic evasive tactic in sof2 and if u hate dat and u playin source is best u kill your grandfather boy
next ting wat d hell u talkin bout with d ranges in terms of arms
son don't u start d game with $800 and so can only purchase a kevlar or a stronger/more accurate pistol? *sigh*
in other words when d best of of (apparantly unlike u) playin with pistol like deagle and cappin men like nuttin from a far distance no0bs like u does be bawlin o gosh doh snipe na

Hey, I love SoF.  I was just asking Trini's opinion.  He likes Realism most of all in games and have shown me many glitches in SoF.

  i said no jumping in CS and ravenshield you f00! , i know jumping is a big thing in sof2 like it is in quake or unreal . You can set any amount of money to start off with in CS , and  even if you start off at default 800 by the 2nd  round you have enough money for  SMGs or an assault rifle if you won the round  , and the default Glock or USP is good enough to pwn anyone once you know what your doing .
   in Source you can hit people miles away with a pistol , but not in Raven shield or CS 1.6 , so therefore you need a sniper rifle or at least an assault rifle with some zoom . 
   I can play sof2 quite well thank you , just see no sense in playing it as unless the map is big , you are reduced to bunny hopping and using shotguns like a dysfunctional game of quake .
  I'v seen these strats used by the no. 1 players in the world ,  people make videos of CS games and put them up on the net,  and i'v had the pleasure of playing with a few of those same players online  :p . 
    you obviously never played a serious  game of CS ,  against serious players , who will seriously 0wn j00 .

Thats true.  Trini is THE BEST I've seen at FPS, and he takes his extensive knowledge of games very seriously.  Also,  i'm ready to try something new. The single player for SoF is lame too.  I breezed through it very quickly and the A.I. wasn't very smart.
