a benchmark is a standardized test for a system , be it hardware or not ,  the higher the score the faster your pc is :p .

Added SnS Upgraded PC benchmark.

Sip & Surf PC01:
************
AMD Sempron 2800+ 754
512MB DDR 400
Nforce 4 754 Mobo
Geforce 6600 256MB PCI-E

3dmark 2001 : 12636
3dmark 2005 : 2572

Interesting to see the delta between these cards and it's 6600 GT brethren in the real world.

The difference being 100 - 400 3dmarks in the 2005 edition at stock.

Not bad at all. Everything should run beautifully at 1024x768. Time to test battlefield immc.

pressure for that FX 5600.

change that to a 6600 GT and you could quadruple your performance easily.

lol...I have a 256MB Radeon 9600 Pro to put in, just whenever I feel like it, or to be put in my new PC when I get the funds to build it :P.

But in any case, Celeron sucks, so I dunno how much (if any), it will help out....

If I change it over to an AMD chip...along with better RAM....may be a better story, but as such, that's my money's dictation....

that radeon should give u a good boost man!

wtmc!

most games aren't cpu limited, so don't hate on the celeron.

I'll be very interested in seeing that score, with your config as is and the 9600.

yeah, but I don't think SPK has the budget to spring for a dual sli setup just yet. lol

He still has quite a ways to go before his 1800mhz cpu holds back his gaming performance.

Actually I think it does hold it back sometimes, even running Halo on it, it starts to lag once there's any sizeable amount of data to render....

I waiting till me and my bro have aboput $5000 to spend to build a new PC, more designed for gaming/video editing....

Halo is a badly coded game , it lags because  the developers were too lazy to  optimize it , Halo lags on the xbox sometimes .
Celeron won't hold you back much unless its less than 2ghz  , cpu doesn't cause lag usually unless your cpu is less than 1.6ghz P4 / AMD 1600+ .
