after inveting more time into this title, I realized that I have lost my passion for GT. This game feels overwhelming to me, I got all the licenses and I beat the beginner and professional cup and it feels too redundant. It feels too much like GT3 for my liking, while there are so many upgrades it can be called GT5, i feel to nostalgic when I sit with the title. It's a cold sad day today
Ok, finally played it. Not impressed in the least. I like the B-spec feature, but I found the game to be alot diff in handling to the last one and its annoying. The graphics to me aren't much of an improvement if any at all. The starting movie SUCKS @$$ and the soundtrack thus far that i've heard is BLAND at best. I need to get more into the game, but as far as first impressions go, its failed miserably in my eyes, (and i'm a huge fan of the series).
Well Camre when u're willing to give me a HDTV or at least the money for it I will br happy to sit and marvell at the difference in the graphics, but since most of us PLEABS can't afford one, thats not happening anytime too soon. As for the handling, I know they updated the physics, but as far as just being able to pick up and play goes, ur right its a steeper learning curve that would take me all of 1 hr to get right, but I was thinking of it from just pick up and play point of view (initial fun factor as the case may be). Yes the backgrounds are also much increased, but yuh know what, really and truly I don't appreciate that fact as much since I am usually concentrating on the road and not bothered by how much scenery is in the background. If I was a spectator, then maybe I would appreciate that more. Again I repeat its my FIRST oppinion, I am sure it will improve with time and more hands on gaming. But for now, my opinion remains. And seeing as u are entitled to ur opinion as well, ur opinion on my first set of negative comments sucks also.
You really do not need a HDTV to see the difference, but I figured if you can’t see it on your normal res tv, you must have faulty equipment or something. Perhaps you are using an RF cable. Try moving up to a Composite or even component cable.
GT HAS ALWAYS BEEN TOUGH ON THE NEWBIES. This is nothing new. So what are you complaining about really? It’s a simulation, not a simple game. This is Gran Turismo 4, not burnout or need for speed. Perhaps your skills are defined by the limits of these ‘arcade’ type racers.
If you are a racer and you suffer from such terrible tunnel vision where you can’t afford to look outside the severely limited spectrum of just your line, then you are not much of a racer. You must know where you competition is at all times. In front, behind or the side. You may find yourself in a pickle if this is how you race.
Don’t worry, I know this is your first hands on impression. Like I suggested, invest some more time into the title, and maybe it will reawaken the real racer in you.
