I doubt anything created by EA could come even close to being 'cool' or 'brilliant'. To be honest, they've already ticked me off by stealing Marvel away from Capcom and dashing my hopes of there ever being a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in the near future, so, really, they aren't scoring much points with me right now.
Crossover my behind.
Nothing can hardly be called a crossover worth mentioning unless it's of two companies that has characters people actually give a damn about. Take Marvel vs. Capcom, for instance. We had heavy hitters like Ryu and Megaman, who has already made their impact on the gaming world, taking on the likes of Wolverine and Captain America, who have also made their mark on the comic book industry. SNK vs. Capcom was GOLD, for taking two fighting game behemoths and crossing them into one badass fighting game. DC vs Marvel was also a milestone in the comic book world, when old favorites Superman and Batman met Marvel heroes such as Spiderman and Doctor Doom.
What can EA possibly do to even make this a brilliant crossover? A miracle and a half, because let me tell you, because, for one, they're completely NEW superheroes. We don't even know who they are, and if we should give a damn to begin with. And second, it's EA. The same company that refuses to pay workers for overtime and puts the stamper on creativity by making them work long hours just to meet the deadlines. So, creativity, you say? HA! And HA! again.
Now, you really have to excuse me....perhaps it's bitterness talking here. It is possible for EA to produce something good for Marvel....Activision did, after all, produce the two Spiderman games and X-Men Legends. But, my prognosis on this venture is very grim. Unless those heroes EA are churning out are even worth being on the same page as the X-Men, don't EVEN put them in the same breath as a 'brilliant crossover'. Chances are, they'll be leeching off the success of the Marvel heroes, instead of going through what they did to become popular in the first place.
And, my friends....having a name like the 'Imperfects'?
Can you say....'Teased in High School'?
Sure says LOADS about creativity, doesn't it?
RANT OVER.
