...because Jun's dead.
Then again, I don't think that would be a very good reason, considering that Jinpachi Mishima is back, and apparently in the pink of health. Anna.....I agree, makes no sense, but I suppose they had to make sense out of Nina. Or they could be scratching the bottom of the barrel. Despite that, though, she's not looking too shabby this time around. She's pretty hot.

Baek....wasn't he one of Ogre's victims in Tekken 3?
Guess he survived....

As for Roger....burn him. Burn him with FIRE!!
Little Roger's kinda cute, though.
But, if he's hanging around in Roger's pouch, wouldn't that mean Roger's a....O_o;;

i believe they don't know what to do with this game, but damn the pics are great except that of Jinpachi cuz i mean tryin to draw a line from heiachi to Jinpachi is ludicrous at best by using the mans hair as his dad's beard, they could have done that with the story instead, thats just my opinion

the new girl is Auka KAZAMA she must be related to Jun in some way. I don't think they gonna do that Lei - Violet, Christie - Eddie , Ling - whatever her name is, thing again. Cause we don't need it. I hope this Tekken is great cause Tekken needs a popularity boost.

LMAO @ baddism. You sound like a man after my own heart Ramp. I bought virtua fighter to see what all the hype was about, i played deep into the game for a few days and i cant say that i like it. The characters move stiff, the animations are whack. The cahracter models have potential but just dont make it. the black girl looked good, but her ears are HUGE. its almost like they did it pn purpose. Tekken, has always been the pinicle of fighters for me. It feels professional. the moves are challenging, but not annoying. The combo system is nice. not too much juggles, not too little. You never feel dis advantaged.

I would say Tekken4, then Killer Insticnt, then MK II would be my top three choices of best fighting games ever.

Two words.  Option Select.

VF: Evo you have to think on another level to win.  The game style is different which is good.  Get some match vids of it and you'll see what its like when skillists meet.  Although, I have seen some nasty stuff in any fighter worth its salt.

Unofficial Translation

Jinpachi Mishima was the founder of the Mishima Conglomerate.

Long ago, he was known as the greatest and strongest fighter of all time. After loosing to his son, Heihachi Mishima, 50 years ago, he lost his company and his fame.

Heihachi changed the company in to a munitions developing company. This news troubled Jinpachi. He didn’t like what was becoming of his son or his company so he had planned a coup d’etat, but before he was able to carry out his plans, he was captured and locked away from the world for many years in a prison built on the Mishima estate.

Years after his imprisonment, Jinpachi felt a tremor rocking his small prison—sensing this was his chance to escape, he released all of the power he had stored up in his old and weakened body on his prison setting himself free.

Once he was free from his prison, his eyes burned red and a horrific aura encompassed his body.

Name: Jinpachi Mishima
Fighting Style: Mishima Style Karate
Nationality: Japan
Age: Unknown

No fair.
The Tekken 1 manual said he was DEAD.
DEAD, I TELL YOU!!!

http://www.manji-clan.com/wtcl/characters/extra.htm

Blargh.
Can't find the section where they quoted his story from the manual word for word.
I guess from this latest turn of events, by all reason, I should stop believing that Jun is dead, then. Cause if they manipulated the clever use of plotholes to resurrect some old fossil that should have died millions of years ago, I guess it's only a matter of time before Jun wakes up from cryo-induced amnesia, or is reborn in Unknown's body, or some other crappy plot twist that we haven't seen or thought about yet.

....curse you people and your ability to raise the dead!
CURSE YOU, I SAY!!!

well .. it is said that Jinpachi had the devil gene and that it skipped  generation (Heihachi)  but was passed down to Kazuya and later to  Jin. The aura camrE speaks of could very well be Devil manifesting itself. It is also rumored that Jinpachi could also have  some trace of the Ogre gene within him. For those that don't know Heihachi in an attempt to save his ancient ass and gain power was trying to splice the Ogre gene with his own DNA but failed. His team later told him that they needed the Devil Gene which led to the events seen in the Tekken 4 intro movie.

Yeah yeah but on the tekken 1 booklet u hadda know that when someone is mentioned as dead it is "as the world knows it" this means that it is a well kept secret. The people who write those things are supposed to be dumb...

But it makes sense now seein that he was imprisoned since b4 the first it would be easy for everyone to THINK he was dead.

Hey hey hey guys, remember this is a game. Don't expect the story to be tight and flawless. None the less. I pray Heihachi is in this game, so I can truly form the for horse men of everyone's apocalypse; Jinpachi (I don't care what move set he has, I'll play with him simply because he is the father of the second greatest character in tekken. Combot being the greatest.), Heihachi, Kazuya, and Jin. Ooorah! Sorry Paul, but if Heihachi is here, you gotta bounce. *Sobs*

Combot has you!
