Vampires : Bloodlines the masquerade
« on: February 16, 2005, 04:34:03 PM »
I jumped on the oppurtunity to play another game based on the source engine  ,  the game LOOKS and SOUNDS great.... but there is horrible lag due to the fact that the game  needs to use 1.4 gigabytes of virtual RAM by default.... and a bug that makes it crash when loading new areas .  The story and gameplay are different ... and enjoyable... if only it    didn't lag...or crash so much, it would actually be a great game .
The game is very perverse and is definately not for minors ... but i'm sure the older generation will get a kick out of it .     I'll post some screenshots  when i don't feel lazy .

Yup the lag is ridiculous, but the game is really addictive. i was 'testing' it out for a while then found myself playin it and enjoying it more than most of the other mediocre crap i got installed. superb voice acting, decent graphics, and very immersive storytelling. jus need a lot more patching!

okie excuse the blueness ...  my photoshop filter has gone colour blind .
Notice the same fresnel effect pixel shaded water as in HL2....

note the highly detailed facial bump mapping , the game has same facial expressions as in HL2 also ...  Right now i just finished the ghost quest... and broke into an art gallery, stole  the charity money and am attempting to slash some paintings that are protected by a spell .

regarding the stage kicking you out.....if you have a save prior to that point, bump back to that point then try to progress past it....Farcry did that to me a few times.
I'd believe u if you were right.

  Recommended requirements :
  1.7 ghz P4/ AMD 1600 .
512 RAM , at least 480mbs of it free for it not to lag (bad)
Radeon 8500/9000 or Geforce 3/4 TI Geforce FX 5600 ( for bump maping)
4-5 gigs of HD Space free, 3 gigs for games, rest for virtual memory .

this game is probably the best RPG available for the pc right now..... other than KOTOR II , the story is in depth, and after you patch it, it doesn't crash at all .

This game is teh stuff! The grafixs in the game aint much, but considering how much there is in fact IN the game, its really amazing! Like WOAH, and the atmosphere it self of the game, that alone would show you that its a "vampire" game...
