Intel touts Pentium M as desktop replacement Intel Developer ForumBy Mike Magee in San Francisco: Thursday 03 March 2005, 19:19THE DAY HAS dawned that Intel has publicly stated that future desktops built on Pentium M processors and chipsets will be replacements for your common or garden sort of PC.The firm showed off one or two reference designs here at IDF, including a rather snazzy slim thing, pictured below. This one has got a DVD built into the front of the unit, and the usual IO suspects at the back.We asked the nice Intel chaps whether they thought the introduction of such creatures would cause trouble for OEMs who specifically made notebooks. But Intel thinks not. Presumably because many of the bigger OEMs make notebooks and desktops.Oh, by the way, we want one. We've been using a home built Pentium M desktop for a little while now and it's quiet, and it's fast.
And that pic adds what value cept make us waste bw?
