http://folding.stanford.edu/ Download it, run it when you are not gaming / doing CPU intensive work .  It is  a program that uses your processor to calculate the 'folding' of protiens, how they bond etc.  it helps scientists understand protiens , DNA, RNA  etc.  This will help them to find cures for alzhiemers, HIV etc.  as they can't afford to buy hundreds of super computers to do the same work..  
 it can also be used to 'stress test' a  PC  since it loads up your processor  if you allow it to,  and a faulty component may show themselves up after a few days of running this .

It really is for a worthy cause...you can even start a team and contribute your idle cpu time towards it. Right now I'm on Team Anandtech, but if there's gonna be a Team GATT, I'd gladly switch over...
