"ATi did with the Catalyst 4.12 an improvement. The performance improvements are up to 25% (comparing to older Catalysts) and the image-quality didn't decrease. The reason for this could be the fixing of the "256mb-bug". We can do nothing different than saying: "Good work, ATi". ATi was able to increased the speed again."

Now thats all well and good, but what does that translate to the rest of us with 128Mb cards like the 9800Pro? to be honest I don't know anyone with an X800 or X700 for that matter. I am downloading now, i'll see if there is any improvement in actual game framerate soon.

you go only get improvement in them new cards, if you conducting a 9600 or a 9700 or something you aint getting sqat

thats how it always is, they  too lazy to optimize the older cards for newer games, thats the benefit of buying the latest generation mid-range card , it will get faster and faster (drivers),  while if you buy that last generation card, it will get more and more problems, and even loose a little performance over time (drivers)  .
   When i first got my 8500 , the stock drivers were speedy as hell , played all the games with no problems , 15 driver versions later, i haver 3-4 major and annoying bugs in the same games that played great, artifacts sometimes for no reason....

I have to totally agree with yuh dere RAMPAGE, my Geforce 3 Ti200 drivers were great... my 9800PRo drivers on the other hand... dread thank GOD I have a decent connection at work... that damn control center was a 40+ MB download WDF? @TI sucks at drivers.... maybe one of these days they will buy out some Nvid1a pplz and get them to write them some good drivers...or maybe Nv1dia will buy some @TI card designers and make better quality capable cards. (note I said quality as in quality of picture which @TI still ownz for now).
