yeah, it have a doom3ish look to it.

but that is alright once it have the speed and pace of quake and not the slow dungeon crawl of doom3.

Yeah, speed will be the determining factor in that game. However remember or heads up to those that don't know, quake 4 is returning to its roots as in quake I and II and NOT III (arena). It will have a multiplayer aspect, BUT its a FPS survival like the first 2 more than a frag fest like the third. So expect that it will look like doom 3.

Raven soft  is developing it... they make great games, Jedi knight , Star trek elite force etc. Unless something goes seriously wrong , the game will come out great .

Thats a good thing, cause Quake 3, as good as it was, really turned me off, cause i was REALLY looking foward to playing it after playing Quake 2 (alot later than it was released) and i enjoyed it, but Quake 3 had no kinda story in it...so that basically sucked and disappointed me greatly...

Yeah, you're right. Quake 3 had 0 story.

But of all the FPS games I have played thus far, Quake 3 felt the best. It had  solid gameplay.

I long for a new version with all the bells and whistles of Unreal 2004 with that same heavy Quake 3 feel. The weapons, tight controls and sound effects pwned.

I hope this comes close.

but remember quake 4 ment to be like quake 2 and not like quake 3
ie it will have a story line and posibely poor multiplayer like doom 3

steups i wanted q4 to be like q3. if i wanted story i sure as hell not gonna look for a game under ID for it.
ID should just stick to making kickarse multiplayer games and forget story all together, leave that for valve or something
