Quentin tarantino NOT directing.

He's "presenting" since he's known for his love of the genre.

Miramax apparently wanted to chop up Hero for the reasons I cited above to make it more palatable for the US audiences.

Tarantino (the golden boy who gets what he wants at Miramax) lobbied for the movie to remain intact, and said that he'd allow his name to be used as a draw for audiences.

Well it was a rather heroic gesture on his part....no pun intended.

But then again, Tarantino has always been a fan of the older chinese cinematics and owes much in the plots of Kill Bill v1 & 2 to movies the likes of 5 deadly venoms. He uses the same mythologies and makes it work to fit a modern critical audience.

You understand what Rich wrote right?

Tarantino had nothing to do with the production of the film. He didn't write, direct, produce, edit or star in it. It was made three years ago in Hong Kong by filmmakers and actors from that region. Tarantino was in the early stages of making Kill Bill around then. He was in the States. They were in Hong Kong. He had nothing to do with the movie.

All that's there of his is "Quentin Tarantino Presents" for 3 seconds before the movie started.

He had zero to do with the making of the movie. It's not a Tarantino movie.

If you're going because you love Tarantino movies, yo're going for the wrong reason. He had nothing to do with it.

Understand?

I might have lost soemthing in the translation from ambiguous caps to normal writing...But are u saying that if a famous filmaker "supports" a movie, you'd go to see it and like it, for no other reason than this....all other things being secondary to this, even if the movie has no feasible appeal audiences.

In short, Are you Tarantino's fan, or his b!tch ?

I have never seen a bad Quentin Tarintino movie before.
Added to that, I like his work. Some people just don't understand his style.
Its not that just because he's supporting" the movie that I am going its also beacuse I found the preview looked enticing
Jet Li is starring and I've seen him in some good movies before.
I think if you liked Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon you should appreciate this movie.

They didn't release it at the same time because it was made almost a year after.
