is Ninja Gaiden really that hard

Ha anyone played ninja gaiden?

is it really that hard?

I was afraid to get this game because of its difficult reputation but after buckling down, I really have yet to find the challenge. I mean I'm playing on normal but I have been hearing everyone complain of its difficulty. I personally think its a great game. what you all think?

I've personally seen Kheulith trying to beat this one part several times dying the same way over and over.  Seeing that in itself in inconclusive evidence.

Ninja Gaiden is a difficult game but it is worth it.

actually i dont find it difficult at all. it reminds me of zleda alot tho, and onimushas. hmm.. feels like zelda and onimusha had a kid. i'm on chapter 8 and i died once. some brown ninja's jump out of nowhere and sliced me to bits. lol it was funny, cause they were slicing me like pastrami at a deli AND hitting me with lil bombs. but now i whoop their a$$es. The puzzles are overly easy and you can always tell when you are about to meet a boss of when you have to use a specific weapon at a specific location. Fun game. The difficulty level is there but it doesn’t drown the fun out. like Red Faction or Splinter cell

yea it's something else...some straight forward .like taking out tanks and stuff with bow and arrows to helicopters....and after u kill hte boss.. his ghost comes back...so i'll say pretty much a pain int he butt sometimes........ got an initation chidori in the game to lol

ninja gaiden is ill. anyway you cut it. if you think this game is difficult then you are lame and shud quit bitching and put down ur controller. Dont even worry about playing the expansion pack. its simply crazy! now that is a challenge

Different strokes for different folks, I always say.
So, nytemare, just let it be known that if the man didn't like the game, that's his business, his opinion, do NOT bash on him because he has one and isn't afraid to say it.

I, personally have never played the game before, but it looks simply gorgeous.
Sure, I'll pick it up when I have time (and an X-Box would be pretty nice, too), but chances are I won't really stick with it for too long. If the game is as nail-bitingly difficult as some people say, it may be one of those games where I take a 'sabbatical' from it and pick it back up when I've geared up to take it on again.

One more thing, nytemare....

The level of difficulty of a game is only defined as the amount of commitment you put into it.
If you degrade the integrity of the game just because you get stick some where then you lose interest in it.
However, if u stick with it and get over the obstacles you realize that their is a greater feeling of accomplishment.
Don't quit.

Well, it's not that I actually up and 'quit' the game...far from it.
I just take a little breather from it so I can focus on it the next time I pick it up again.
As some people can tell you, when I lose at a really hard game, my temper flares up so bad that it practically makes the Incredible Hulk look like a whiney b!tch.

It's practically my way of progressing through a game that gives me pressure.
I'm currently doing it with Mega Man 1, and I've reached pretty far by pacing myself.
How do you ask?
Well, a couple of days ago, Ice Man was kicking the crap out of me, and his stage made me go completely bonkers.
Now, he's toast, and I rule. Any questions?

i had gotten stock about a month or 2 ago ...i think it was by some statue in the water ..i think it was an angel or somethig haven gotten time to play it since...been starting to play star wars KOTOR

see thats my whole point. the game is not difficult for even the average gamer. I have over three hundred titles (defeated) under my belt and i was afraid to try this game. i picked it up and im flying true it like nobody's business. this game has earned an unfair rep. i downloaded the expansion pak and i will tell you, while it is beatable, it is atleast twice as difficult as the regular game. when the guy who heads up Tecmo's ninja team was asked what he thinks about the game's difficulty. he said people should quit complaining and start playing, and he is exactly right. Do not be afraid of ninja gaiden. it is easy. don't believe the hype.

ok so after picking the game up after a hiatus of two weeks i get to this level where i find some lovely ghost fish. while they are a pain in the ass, they are still not difficult.

Ah yes, Ninja Gaiden, the primary reason why I purchased an XBOX....as of the game's difficulty, its quite challenging and the bosses are usually easy to defeat in a second try (haven't completed it as yet so emphasis is on 'usually'). However defeating the boss is not sufficient enough for me for I like to defeat them without the aid of a talisman of rebirth and that's where the difficulty is for me.

Actually both pronounciations are correct....you see the sound of 'y 'can be substituded for that of ' i 'and vice versa...its like bi and by...they both sound the same but they have different meanings so different letters are used to distinguish between them.

hmmm... I see your point colde, but we must remember the switching of the 'I' sound for 'y' is english. GAIDEN is Japanese. so i don't know if that applies.

I will let you on to the secret of Ninja gaiden. here goes;  the game is actually not difficult at all, see every enemy and situation demands a certain Ninpo or weapon. thats all there is to it. know what is appropo for what. like the ghost fish may get the better of you until you equip the fire ninpo (the first one) and the flail. Don't worry about running out of ki, cause you ALWAYS GET IT BACK. ha ha

i agree ...in fact i did not even hear about the difficult level while i was going through it only this thread made my uunderstand.....but since i haven't played it in a while.star wars - KOTOR has me going right...when i fed up i'll go back to ninja gaiden
