Oh yes it is true and it is awesome...oh it doesn't seem to be an expansion set so you may not need KOTOR to play it.

You don't need KOTOR to play it.The game doesn't even read your XBox save or anything.
The trend of events from the last game is determined by conversations in the beginning,you decide what happened in KOTOR.

the original wasn't that long.......

but from what I hear of the sequel with prestiege classes (d&d rpg players would know what I mean)

jedi and sith will take on a whole new meaning

actually I believe it is in the article/news on the homepage

anyway

there are supposed to be

Jedi Watchman, Jedi Weapons Master and Jedi Master
Sith Assassain, Sith Maruder (similar to Darth Malak) and Sith Lord

the first classes I think are more dependent on skills/forcepowers

the second I think are warrior classes

the third I believe would be both fighting and skills capable

however where they would differ from the jedi classes in the first kotor (jedi sentiel/guardian/consular) is more special abilites and qualites

but what those would be is only speculation on my part

Just to let everyone know what the SWU definitions of these classes would be:

Jedi Watchman: A Jedi that is assigned guardianship over a particular system.That Jedi is empowered to deal with all matters in that system.Unlike what EGM said though,Obi-Wan was NOT a Watchman.An example of one would be Master Arca Jeth.

Jedi WeaponsMaster: Jedi who focuses on weapons training obviously.Examples would be Mace Windu or Kyle Katarn

Jedi Master: Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Sith Assassin: Self explanatory.Example would be Mara Jade or Lumiya while they were Emperors Hands.

Sith Marauder:Sith weapons master.However Marauder,as the name would suggest,are entirely occupied with killign everything in sight.
Examples Del Korrot,Xanatos or Darth Maul before his ascendance to Sith Lord.

Sith Lord:The boss of them all.The most powerful of the Sith.
Examples:Darth Sidious,Darth Vader,Exar Kun,Darth Bane,Naga Sadow.

but the sith assasin would be better than an emperor's hands as they would be sith and not just darksiders

the distinction is that there is a good deal of techniques and goodies available to the sith that is unavailable to any other darksider
