Hmm, no surprise there.



Ati has had their hands in the cookie jar from as far back as I can
remember.



I liked the bit about when is an optimization not a cheat.



I remember when 3dfx has stronger figures than nvidia in 32bit mode.
Turned out they weren't in 32bit mode at all but a 24bit mode. Thing is,
they said so...quite boldy. Saying that 32 didn't bring much to the
table and for the most part...it didn't. Visually they were comparable,
though the 3dfx card had much easier math to work with.



Ain't nothing wrong with that.



Those were the days. Open discourse on the technology, when it was still
just a 1 horse race. Nowadays, everyone's tight lipped about real
advancements and mask them behind catchy marketing phrases that you only
really get the skinny on when tomshardware or some german site takes it
apart. Given the competitive nature of the market now, that's not gonna
change.



Expect a lot more "cheat" expose's in this rat race.
