An excellent review of soldner.

I found the bit about certain innovations surprising. C&C Renegade has
nailed these but it's almost as though no one cares.

Vehicular availability for instance, based on individual money rather than
camping by spawn points. Also, buying weapons under cover, rather than in
the open at a terminal watched over by snipers. Nonetheless, it's a good
read.

A snippet

I am a simple person. I like my meat rare, my potatoes baked, and my
first-person shooters lag-free. I found my Soldner experience to be like
ordering steak at chain restaurant; sometimes the meat was done right - not
too rare, not too cooked. Other times they burnt the order. In other words,
when the game worked great, it was a fantastic experience; when it didn't,
it was an exercise in frustration.
Soldner has gone through three Beta releases for its multiplayer component,
if you count the patches. The first public beta was as close to a fiasco as
a beta can be. The master browser for the servers was in the dev's offices
and they didn't anticipate the demand, leading the server list not
populating properly. To add to the woes, connecting to the servers was a
challenge, and if you were able to get connected, staying connected and
having decent latency was almost impossible.

lol @ install

ent, pressure with that.

The bit about the commander was pretty slick. Like the commander in savage.

Same way he can distribute the team funds amongst players and light up
an enemy target for the troops to see.

A little too similar, these guys had to have played Savage, not that I'm
complaining. Better to improve the wheel than reinvent it most time.

i don't think its right to make a review of the current builds nah.
especially for this game, good lord. i personally think they should wrap up
this game , bring it in 2005, give it a new name and call that george.

the delay the game due to its bugs an other rubbish, they made a statement
about it an thing from the beta feedback. so if the game makers pull the
game back because of it, and you making a review on something like that,
which isnt anywhere near completion (jeeze i go understand you review the
official demo or something), then thats just wrong and you should be shot.
its however cool to comment on the game. eg:

"boy the mc game aint even install"
"boy i join a server and get kick out a second after"
"boy when i load the game it crash to meh lara croft wallpaper a couple secs
after"
"aye boy i see the menu! but thats all i see, it freeze meh pc :("
