You'll get a significant speed and bandwidth gain with a PCI-E SSD, so if you can afford it, and your motherboard supports it, then by all means...upgrade.

Carefully study your motherboard's manual with respect to PCI-E lanes though...because using this type of drive will most likely 'subtract' lanes from another interface, like certain PCI-E slots, or SATA ports, so you may find certain things disabled when you use a m.2 slot.

If you're using a drive that actually fits into a PCI-E slot, then you may not encounter the issue I outlined above.

Was considering this one, it has solid reviews

http://amzn.to/1SM3LE2

But I'm leaning towards a regular 480GB samsung SSD instead because space has become a premium with these 30gb  - 50gb games nowadays

Ohhhh, that one is killer, once you have the PCI-E slot.

Best thing about that...you can drop in a larger capacity M.2 drive at any time when you can afford it.
I also especially like the fact that they include a half-height bracket in the package.

was lookin at the intel 750 pci ssd , but gonna go with the direct m.2 port on my MB gonna try and save some room to sli later down in the year, cause those zotacs take up almost 3 slots

still a toss up tho cause that intel 750 only requires a 3.0x4 express lane AND  i have a vertical m.2 slot which is pcie 3.0x4 either way i would be taking up some pci lanes and if i wanna sli ill have a cpu upgrade to do but i think for now im gonna use the vertical m.2 port and tackle the sli problem when i get there

thanks guys

I've been following that gsync situation. You know anyone in Trini who can vouch for it?

My main game is DotA

Kind of want a hands on review before dropping the cash.

which gsync monitor u have ? i used a swift and the predator last month , and i would hardly say sublime i used a benq with gync that was sublime lol , there was a  line up at microcenter they were playing a demo of division and the line up was freesync and gsync . (bearing in mind division is nvidia based for pc and amd based for console)

anyways it was a blind test  between the 2 , the rigs were hidden and it was based on pure in game feel and performance and to be honest the gsync took it at low and high frames the tech is sound its just alot more costly than free sync , from what i saw at low fps the freesync has tearing and at high fps ghosting , i think the 2 gpus used were gtx980ti (ref)and fury x (HBM)

i know it sounds biased freesync is good but the theory with gsync is just better i mean the sync between card gpu  and monitor cpu for adjustments on the fly ,plus at low fps the card doubles the same frames so its smoother whereas freesync relies on display port adaptive sync the card is to say it crudely throttled by the response of the monitor, but the prices tags are better

but again it depends on the game and what platform was endorsed by it.

i thinking the predator ips 144hz oc to 165hz , 27inch 2560 x 1440 WQHD , gsync .....i think it saying plenty

now reading back i really am biased lol sorry any toes stepped on

but you don't play DotA, lol

@ LordG, I play @ 1920x1200@60 (no vsync)

http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VW266H-25-5-Inch-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B001LYPNFQ

Got a dual monitor setup but the second ain't nothing special. plain vanilla AOC @ 1080p

I've got a second 28" monitor as well for my other rig.

while i must admit DOTA aint my flavour either (might try again) i have a pal who plays and he had a 60hz monitor and sold him my old asus  TN 144hz no gsync . and the dude swears DOTA feels like a new experience and thats without g sync.

i really wanna buy mines to jump on the division but it seems a good squad is lacking

but trust me if u never tasted 144hz , and coming from a 60hz its gonna be the bomb

with me its between  : http://www.amazon.com/Asus-PG278Q-27-Inch-G-SYNC-Monitor/dp/B00MSOND8C?ie=UTF8&keywords=rog%20swift&qid=1460131043&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

and hear this for CSGO that does not have a crosshair or crosshair option (only pointer)the monitor has software thats puts in a crosshair

and this :http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-27-inch-Widescreen/dp/B0173PEX20/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1460131222&sr=1-3&keywords=acer+predator

still trying to decide if i really need that extra hz from the predator and the extra whistles

but as more freesync monitors come out i seeing the gsync dropping i know it might never go that low but imma buy mines for august
