Yes the new 750ti was just released & is based on Maxwell GPU which is super power efficient while delivering more power for games. Do recommend saving a bit more to get that.

The r7260x is your AMD option which delivers pretty much the same performance and as virtue said you get mantle benefits in supported games.

op mentioned he wanted to play battlefield 4 specifically. According to the review above, even the 750ti is cutting it close for BF4 gaming @ 1080p. Go down to gtx 650 and you are firmly in slideshow territory. He'd be glad he spent the extra cash on something more powerful.

Tha 650 could probably do 1080p with all settings on 'Low'.
Emphasis on 'probably'. 
Yuh go geh 60 fps in Plants vs Zombies easy. 


Seriously... I would actually recommend a GTX 760 as an acceptable minimum for smooth gameplay at 1080p. (with 'Medium' to 'High' settings)
However, I do realize that not everyone's budget will enable that purchase.
You might be able to get away with them settings on a 750 in an older game-engine, like Unreal 3, or Source.
Fling Metro, Crysis or Battlefield at it, and some heavy compromises might be in order.

TitanFall to the world.

It runs on Source, so it will scale well even with reasonably priced graphics cards.

Yeah he could wash car before hand and get the 750ti for better frames in bf4.... but if he buy 650, no amount of car washing making that 650 play bf4 smooth lol

Ergo the recommendation to play TitanFall instead.

Because it runs smooth on affordable hardware.

I know one GATT member (not calling any names) who played it on a PC with 2gb of RAM.
