today i bought a router and tried to hook up this up to my flow web one but nothing seems to work...

that is the model if anyone can help that would be great
just so you know no i am not router smart and know little to nothing about this stuff
networking etc

Be more specific when you say nothing seems to work, also which of the flow modems do you have.

the usual arris ones that everyone seems to have
something like this

the nexxt powers on and the respective lights are on but no connection to the internet from it at all
i installed the respective cd that came with it also accesses the control panel thing through the
router ip and even played with a few settings which led to a reset on both routers and then gave up
sorry if i miss a simple step but as i said i know little to nothing about it

Did you connect the modem to the WAN port of your wireless router and not one of the LAN ports?

Possibly you may also have to use the clone MAC feature.
