The Asus Eee 1201n
« Reply #80 on: January 01, 2010, 12:36:28 PM »
I think I've found my new portable pc... after a hard search through of ultra lights and cheap laptops, I've found the common denominator in all was INTEL GMA ....

I've never really had interest in a netbook, because i know they're ultra portables and not meant to replace a full fledged laptop, but this Asus 1201n has to be the best thing since the invention of doubles. Small, respectable performance and it sits perfectly on the bridge between netbook and laptop. I think that this will the purchase to replace my ever aging Compaq. Boasting a dual core Intel Atom 330, and Nvidia's ION platform it promises to deliver decent performance in a smaller package.

How does a Dual Core Atom perform you may ask? Just watch the video, and I'm sure you're going to add this baby to your cart.

Why show a video of it playing games? Why buy a netbook to play games?

....Easiest way to judge performance, because as we all know, intel's GMA is weaksauce... so far i'm sold on this netbook/laptop/epicwin.

Good find, man.

Gives me something to consider other than the Acer Timeline AS1410/AS1810.

Looking  to upgrade  from my faithful Asus EEEPC 1000HA .... (I gonna miss having white keys... snif)

excellent find indeed.

I've struggled trying to find a netbook that comes out of the gate with 2gb mem and some decent performance.

This hits the nail on the head.

+1

Sticker shock isn't too bad @ US$484.00 either

It would be perfect around the US$450.00 mark though, I'm sure it will hit that price point in time.

I would actually upgrade my MSI Wind to that 1201n.  I read a review on TechReport, and was simply blown away by the performance.
