When did this thread become Steam vs psn ? I call thread derailment!  *eye nuke button... I'd like to throw in xbl has been giving away 2 games per month since summer 2013.  Latest addition sleeping dogs.

Oh and BTW dota 2 runs quite well on AMD A10 apu so integrated IS capable.

IT would be interesting to see a statistic of all PS4 buyers, how many of those still thought PSN was free. LOL

Actually when I bought my ps3 in 2008 online play and wether it was cheap or not was not the issue.(was not planning to play online)  I chose playstation because it was more reliable than 360. 360 lost alot of sales due to rrod

hold up, lets not get carried away here. PC not becoming "mainstream" anytime soon regardless of all the goodness that is going on with the platform.

WAY too many issues for that to happen.

There is a reason consoles have been wtfpwning PCs since inception and that isn't about to change.

It is great and fantastic that PC gaming is not going to completely die or become largely irrelevant (because that was the trend a few years ago) but don't confuse the increase in activity with any hope of it dominating consoles in our lifetimes.

Unless you're talking about CandyCrush and Farmville....in which case....yes.....lihixxxxxxxx in console mc.

Who said anything bout mainstream?

@Integrated graphics, my surface pro one ran dota quite well. Haven't tied it on 2 which has a better gpu. And my old Sony laptop ran grid 2 once u low down d settings.

Yh pc gamin on the rise, might become mainstream in de near future.

He said mainstream, see above

@ W1n....the A10 isn't basic or standard. That is a top of the line product on AMD's roster.

See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_AMD_Accelerated_Processing_Unit_microprocessors

The A4 is more in line with basic or standard, which struggles with DOTA.

As I said, by 2015 we can only hope the A10 level of performance will be mainstream. That will position PC for a meteoric rise, if every rig that comes out the gate is capable of running DOTA 2 / League of Legends comfortably.

You said APU, I consider all APUs low end because let's face it Intel has cornered off the mid and high end. So that leaves APUs... guess where? LOW END. Pricewise an A10 can be had for a little over a 100USD. That's not bad, but hey you COULD get a cheap intel dual core and a LOW end gpu. I was merely pointing out an APU can handle dota 2. Don't suggest BF4 though...

hahahha, I like that angle but no....an A10 is nowhere near the lowend. That is a 4 ghz+ cpu with a very competent gpu (see the link posted earlier for exact specs)

Don't forget intel has 2ghz+ celerons and other low end processors still very much on the market. Going for US$49.00 and such

A basic/standard PC isn't coming with an A10....which is the point. Even a modestly priced laptop comes with under powered graphics. You have to really dig and be insistent if you want proper gaming prowess from a machine today.

That is and will remain a deterrent until entry level apus and integrated gpus can push decent pixels.

PC gaming can explode exponentially when that happens.
