nba 2k14 looks better on ps4. and its not because the console is more powerful than a pc, by no means do i think this. its just that developers go where the money is and console games sell better

but the man has a point....next gen consoles offer a consistent graphical experience.

PC is a mixed bag. It isn't one homogeneous spec.

I have literally 8 PCs and only one of them can match/surpass the consoles in performance. That one cost easily three times the price of a PS4/Xbox one.

So for the average person with an average PC....yes, the console graphics will be superior.

A blanket statement like that should not be allowed to exist. By that same token, you can say, console graphics better that PC graphics throughout time. Because there would always be a console, that have better graphics, than a lesser pc.

If u want to make a statement like that, u need to add in "at similar pricepoint" or something like that. Or d "average person with average pc" thing Wyatt said lol.

I've never seen a console game that looks better, or even remotely close, to the same game on my PC. Sorry. (And my PC old now. Rigs can be built about 4 times more powerful than what I rocking.)

The last generation of consoles came closer to PC graphics at launch than this gen. YUh know what. I digress. No longer entertaining that statement, carry on .....lol.

We have long established that you are at the extreme end of the scale Messiaah.

For 95% of the gamers in the world, the guys statement is closer to the truth.

To keep it closer to home, Trinidad has 1.3 million people....I'd wager less than 5% of those people have gaming rigs superior to a $499 console. In 2013

Once u add in the extra lil bits to make d statement true, like d 95% of ppl pc, etch etc etch, once that bit added in I can say ok. Lololol. Once u generalize d statement, u leaving it open to comparison with the upper end PCs and men like me will perk up. Once YUh boxing in YUh weight division fine by me. Light weights and cruiser weight men could fight up. The exclusion of the heavy weights must be made clear :laughing7:

i wish that was the only problem, having to pay atleast 1000 for your pc to beat out a console. but i realize a trend in that some developers dont make an effort to optimize their game for the pc, and i cant be vex with them cause consoles is their bread and butter. if devs use to really optimize games for pc(which would be almost impossible due to the many diff configurations) then i would be able to build a pc with the exact specs as a console and be able to run the same games, but pc gamers end up having to overcompensate by using super fast parts that games dont fully take advantage off, i dont know bout you but i dont have 4000us to spend on a pc or i would be rocking a quad sli titan setup. other than that pc is cool

Agreed that the majority of games aren't optimized well for PCs, but some developers are plain Lazy.
Take Battlefield for instance. The game was a horrid mess on consoles.... even worse than on PCs, the same console that have identical architecture and specs across all 4 million of them. Optimization and how good a game is, can be argued by a game by game case. Because there are console games that are just horrible. Skyrim on PS3 was another. That game was full of bugs, glitches and crashes.... but the PC version ran flawlessly.

Also, men don't use they PC for JUST games, next gen trying to make the console do a lot more as well. But having used the Xbox One since launch, and being the "feature rich" console of this generation.... it is in by no means a replacement for a pc, not even remotely close.

Also, the PC men who spend 4000 US on a pc, have no problem spending that money, to raise their FPS from 50FPS to 60FPS with SSMA on. The visual different will be minute, But after a certain point, this becomes a hobby and illogical for actual game performance. A gaming rig that will wax a console can be had for significantly less. 1000-1500$ will comfortably deal with a console. The men who spending 4000 US not spending that to beat a console. They spending that to have the utmost best graphical experience possible. Something a console cannot provide.

And the cost console have u saving upfront, they milk from u in the long run. I buy more games, and freak more games, for significantly less money, than it cost me to buy 1 game for the Xbox One. Steam/Amazon Sales FTW.

There are Pros and Cons to each. That can be argued from now till the end of time.
But is not about overcompensation. When I building a gaming rig, outperforming a console is no where on my mind. Yah don't need $4k to do that.

lol, said the spider to the fly indeed.

But firekyler is right once again, the majority of games aren't being optimized for the PC...but instead, for the console market.

That will be less of a problem going forward though as the PC industry has seen a bit of a renaissance. A lot of great titles on the horizon are confirmed for release. Also with Steam, Origin, Amazon and Windows Store vying for digital distribution supremacy, the  prices are set to remain low.

As Messiaah alluded, prices for games on the consoles are traditionally higher. US$59.95

More if you buy locally. The digital versions typically costing the same as retail and not enjoying heavy discounts as we see on Steam.

You get free games via XBL and PSN now but you are actually paying for those by way of the subscription fees.

All in all, the PC will be the cheaper platform over the course of say three years and a modest collection of 15 - 20 games. (Due to games being cheaper and no fees for online multiplayer)

Granted that you built a reasonably priced gaming rig in the first place (US$700 - 1000)

Imagine, buying a video card for US$260 and getting three triple A games free???

At US$60 a pop.....that is like paying only US$80.00 for the graphics card.

Deals like these make the PC far more affordable when you crunch the numbers.

and i know steam is cheap i have dozens of games i paid less than $10 for, i wish the consoles could copy that from steam then they would be unstopable. i believe that was microsoft's plan. and to stop piracy seeing as they could not do that with the xbox 360

Exactly @ prices. Imagine, if buy 10 games for the Xbox one, that's 600$ easy.......I can take that same 600, buy a 500$ graphics card for d pc I already have, and get d same 10 games on steam/amnz sale, maybe even more than 10 lololol.

Drop that to a very capable 400$ card, and u have 200$ to spend on games.

More games u buy, is d more d savings on d PC adds up, at d end of d generation, d cheaper console mite cost u more to game on, add in your xbl subscription in there as well.

Is that same outrageous console game price, cause me to buy all my games for Christmas on pc. And I was fully intending to buy them for Xbox for "convenience", I chose cheap games instead. :laughing7:

for me i game on console for so much years, mouse and keyboard proving hard to get into especially for fps since i could use a gamepad on all other games without problem. and since fps is my favorite type of game. i cant abandon the console yet so i gonna buy a next gen console primarily for cod etc

Exactly, even the PS4 controller works on the PC.

So it truly is the best of both worlds.

Only platform exclusives should really drive a gamer to the console at this stage.

Halo and Killer Instinct for example

The swath of Nintendo first party titles, another.
