Look who made it to the 21st century....

During a panel at San Diego Comic-Con today, Capcom announced a new HD game in classic arcade series Strider coming in early 2014. The title will simply be called Strider and is being developed by Double Helix for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Strider "tells the story of Hiryu, the youngest ever 'Super A' ranked agent of an elite corps known as the Striders. Strider Hiryu receives orders to assassinate Grandmaster Meio, supreme dictator of Earth, who has plunged humanity into a dystopian dark age."

Capcom reports that Strider will feature "an ultra-responsive control system, with incredibly satisfying combat options in every traversal context—standing, running, wall climbing, hanging, aerial and more." It will also offer "the massive interconnected world of Kazakh City which players can explore in any direction they choose. The traditional level structure has been replaced with a retraceable world and a deep ability upgrade system which enables Hiryu to build more power and abilities to penetrate ever deeper into the dystopian adventure."

I am just loving these remakes.

The original "gamer" is getting older (think we average in the 30s now)

Those that grew up on the Atari and NES

So it is great to see them catering to us old fogies while at the same time exposing these timeless classics to a new generation.

Hell at this rate, we won't need new IPs, just keep remaking all the old ones. lol
