Some details have surfaced regarding Nvidia's upcoming 700-series dedicated graphics cards

There is a rumor on the web, initially reported by Brightsideofnews, that Nvidia will be launching its 700-series parts next month. Not only this, but a number of specifications have come to light as well. For starters, three SKUs will be released: the GTX 780, GTX 770, and GTX 760 Ti.

What was previously rumored to be the GTX Titan LE appears to actually be the GTX 780, which will likely be based on a cut-down GK110 part. As such, it will feature 2,496 CUDA cores, 208 Texture Mapping Units, 40 Render Output Units, and 5 GB of GDDR5 memory that will run over a 320-bit memory interface.

Moving on, the GTX 770 will be based on the older GK104 part, essentially being a higher clocked GTX 680 with double the graphics memory slapped onto the PCB for a total of 4 GB. The GTX 760 Ti would likely be almost identical to the GTX 670, with perhaps slightly different clock speeds.

MSRP pricing for the GTX 780 is said to be between $499 and $599, the GTX 770 $399, and the GTX 760 Ti $299. While all of these details remain unconfirmed, it would be great if they are true.

Projections of 20 to 23% increase over what u have now arc.

Assuming you get 40 fps in any title right now, you can expect maybe 48-50 instead. Might be worth it yes.

For me i'll want to sit out these refreshes and just wait till the next ("tick") generation to do any upgrades.

Just in time for my birthday.

But since Dota 2 runs smooth enough as is, might delay graphics upgrades till Christmas 2013 yes.

GTX 760 Ti, 770, 780 detailed

Rebranded 600 series, faster than predecessors

Our sources were happy to share some additional details about Nvidia’s upcoming cards. It turns out that the GTX 760 Ti, the slowest of the bunch, is based on the GK104 225 chip. The GTX 750 Ti has a 256-bit memory interface and in reality represents a rebranded GTX 670. It looks dangerously similar to existing GTX 670 boards.
Add-in-board partners expect to start selling this card in the third week or June and they will be able to make their own custom cards. We don’t know much about performance but we expect it to be around GTX 670 levels. The Geforce GTX 770 is based on a somewhat faster GK 104 425 chip, again a 256-bit unit, and our sources are telling us that the card is more or less a GTX 680 renamed for 2013. Nvidia will allow AIBs to manufacture their original boards but the cooling solution on the card looks like the one from GTX Titan.

The cooler better known as NVTTM cooling fan will let this chip clock higher than GTX 680 and should deliver at least a five percent performance boost over the GTX 680. The card is expected in the first week of June. The fastest of them all, based on the huge GK110 chip is the Geforce GTX 780. The card also shares a 256-bit memory buss and is based on GTX Titan LE. The first cards come as Nvidia direct boards and will be directly supplied to partners.

Nvidia will make these cards at first as it wants to control the quality and make sure nothing goes wrong in the manufacturing process. The card was supposed to launch on May 23rd but out sources now insist that it might show a week earlier on the May 16th, but we will try to find out which of these two dates is right.

*Awaits GTX 780 benchies*

More performance for less could never be a bad thing. A GTX 770 @ ~$350 which performs on par with a $500 GTX 680 is a GOOD thing, even though it is a blatant rebadge.

The 780 on the other hand is based on the GK110 of Titan repute and should be a monster. If the performance is right, I wont mind picking one up later on in the year in time for BF4!

Update: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 has also been pictured and that GPU too uses the same cooler from TItan.
NVIDIA’s upcoming GeForce GTX 770 has been leaked by Chiphell Forums and according to the picture, the card makes use of the same cooler featured on the GeForce GTX Titan.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 Pictured – Features GTX Titan Cooler
Yesterday, Fudzilla  revealed some key specifications of the GeForce 700 series cards which are expected to launch by the end of May. The GeForce GTX 770 makes use of a refined version of the GK104 core, codenamed as GK104-425 A2 which although comes with minor improvements over the original GK104-400 core but can be clocked a bit higher. It features a 2 GB GDDR5 memory running across a 256-bit bus and has 1536 cores, the same number as the previous generation flagship GeForce GTX 680. Performance of the GPU is expected to be around 5-10% faster than the GeForce GTX 680 at a cost near the GeForce GTX 670 around $399-$449.

Away from console news for a minute..

http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/23/nvidia-geforce-gtx-780/#comments

Quote
It's well over a year since the GTX 680 came out, but given how that card was a strong contender it may feel too early for an upgrade. NVIDIA knows the score, which is why it's made a particular point of pitching this year's card at owners of the GTX 580 instead. Upgraders from that GPU are pledged a 70 percent lift in performance, which is about double the gain a GTX 680 owner would see. On the other hand, something more people might notice -- if NVIDIA's slides prove to be accurate -- is a 5dBA drop in noise pollution, as well a new approach to fan control that attracts less attention by varying revs less wildly in response to load. This is surprising given that most of the extra performance in this card stems from more transistors and greater power consumption, but that's what we're told. Feel free to hold out for our round-up of independent reviews or read past the break for further details.

NVIDIA drops prices on GeForce GTX 780 and GTX 770 graphics cards
« Reply #14 on: October 28, 2013, 10:51:36 AM »
http://videocardz.com/47388/nvidia-drops-prices-geforce-gtx-780-gtx-770-graphics-cards

Following the GeForce 660 and 650 Ti Boost price cuts NVIDIA decided also to lower the prices of high-end segment.

Current price of NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 780 is far from being competitive in comparison to Radeon R9 290X and the upcoming R9 290. Both cards are supposedly faster than GTX 780, so the Green Team had no choice but to lower the price of their flagship. Of course NVIDIA has still an ace in the hole, yet unreleased GeForce GTX 780 Ti, but it two weeks before it reaches the market.

New prices

NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 780 will receive a price cut over $100. That’s 499 US dollars or 430 EUR.

NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 770 will now cost around $50 less (329 US dollars, 279 in EUR).

These price cuts were just announced minutes ago, it will take some time before stores will start updating their listings.
It’s still worth to wait for Friday’s R9 290 announcement, just to be clear which card is going to be best offer for the price.
