My whole point about payment is, if Sony makes it so the most important things to a user requires payment, it don't matter what else is free, cause everybody going to be paying for it anyways. That's what MS do. So it don't matter what not free on Xbox, because multiplayer is paid, so who cares what else free. Nobody buying a gaming console primarily to watch Netflix. Man buying it to sweat. So if u hadda pay to swet. Then it don't matter what free.

That's what Sony trying to do now. If you have to Pay to game online, it diminishes significantly whatever else free.

YUh wasn't lieing when u say everybody have hypocritical tendencies boy, man shell out he money, hell, man paid up till 2015, and fighting down free services argument, rofl. When I say no problem paying 60$ for XBL live, man want to cuss, but man paid up till 2015, yUh good boy, yUh good!

I'll give Sony credit for having FREE online gaming on PS3, that was their trap to lure in the gamers. But it was never sustainable, as it costs money to maintain servers, especially the amount required for millions of gamers. M$ had that covered with Xbox live going all the way back to the original Xbox, when there was a fee, which I was more than willing to pay at the time due to that very reason, reliability. That carried over to Xbox 360 and I never looked back. I had a PS3 too, played online sometimes until my PS3 optical drive died, and so my PS3 gaming days died with it...I will be getting a PS4 eventually, but for now, Xbox One it is as the service that I pay for is second to none. I have compared Live to PSN and Live beats it everytime. I expect nothing less this time around. Sony will forever be playing catch-up to M$ with the online services, I guarantee it.

And that what you say their Redlum, is my point exactly. The entire appeal to free is, the online was free. With that not being free on PS4 again, what does it matter if Netflix free.

But for those who are unwilling to or are unable to pay for the service for whatever reason they still have access to most of the systems features, so if yuh is ah man who doh really play multiplayer games so but yuh still like to go on YouTube or watch a movie on Netflix once in a while or even chat with yuh bredgrin yuh could still do so without payin

But again, Trini, if you can't afford the Netflix fee, its a mute point. Honestly, there are so many other devices these days that I can use for Netflix or YouTube, smart devices, in fact my wife uses our BluRay player, which happens to be a Sony unit and has all of those apps on it pre-installed. So basically the PS4 is just a smart Bluray player that you can play games on..whereas I can do that plus more on the XBox One by paying a fee that I use to play online anyway...win win in my book.

Tell meh what is the plus more nah, cause since the reveal the Xbox one was tryin to sell as this all in one entertainment system yet every bit of entertainment behind a paywall so why oh why should someone get an xbone over a ps4,Apple tv or Google chromecast.

And if yuh can't afford Netflix why would you pay for either psn or xbl.so now we come back to psn basic still offering most features for free, Netflix is just part of it.Yuh could even browse the web on a 360 without xblg?

Firstly, besides Netflix, tell me what you could do with a PlayStation 4 that you can't do with an Xbox without xbl?

I'll tell you what you can do with an Xbox without xbl that u can't do on a PlayStation 4.

You can play mp3s, you can use USB drives to play content store stuff etc. You can browse d web, you can use SkyDrive to view and play any content you have stored on your pc, you can use dlna to stream from any pc to ur Xbox, you can use hdmi pass through to have live TV pass through d Xbox and use the Xbox one guide to control the content without having to switch display input on ur remote. Allowing u to be watching TV, alt tab to any game or app. You can use Skype.

Now....... besides Netflix and Games, tell me why would I ever choose a ps4 over that? Please tell me what a free ps4 can do for me.

Just a heads up, if u start a features war against d Xbox yUh going to loose very badly, Sony focus so hard on gamers for a reason. As yUh take the argument away from games, and start watching both free and paid features, Sony is going to loose hard.

That paywall list is frightening and yes, you're absolutely right....that approach is terrible.

I have never been a fan of it.

They do have a number of promotions throughout the year that allow you to get Gold for as low as $1 a month at times.

At which point, it is a fantastic value.

At the regular price, it would be prohibitive to a large number of gamers in Trinidad.

That is the harsh reality. It is also the driving force behind our Caribbean island being Sony country.

Now that the playstation camp is charging to play online, things are potentially set for change.

Interesting times ahead.


That is one feather in the PC cap right now. Still the only platform that allows you to play online for free. (Not counting F2P games on the PS4)

And I don't see men reverting to just single player games cause they can use Netflix for free.
I fully expect anybody buying a PS4 to budget an extra 50$ ah year to game online. Otherwise is best they buy ah pc.

And Wyatt, you want to know what funny? Yes MP is free on PC. But ill happily pay 60$ a year to get XBL multi on PC.
I don't even need all them rest of features. Once I have a unified gaming infrastructure for online, friends, chat, matchmaking. I will happily pay 60$ a year for that on PC. Especially if the same subscription allow u Gold on both Xbox One and Windows 8.

So as much as the paywall list looks scary, ill happily pay to get that MP Unification on PC. With cross platform play etc.

But once you have MP behind the paywall, it don't matter what else behind there. Cause that's the most important thing, and that's the primary reason for a console purchase.... To Game.

@ Wyatt, he confirm he can switch, but does it have true multitasking? Can you run 2 apps at once like on Xbox.? And does game invites and matchmaking happen in the background whiles an app is in focus? Find that out for meh.

@Trinishaq, ah still waiting on meh PS4 list eh. Want to know besides Netflix, what u buying a ps4 to do outside the paywall .

@Messiah on the ps4 I'll be able to stream to twitch, actually use the console without day 1 patch, play games in native 1080p and do most of the stuff Xbox one can without plus.

Some of the best PlayStation games single player though, so I think it bearable without multiplayer access especially with de asking price.

Also the amount ah men I know with ps3/360 that don't have internet or worse yet don't know it could connect to the internet, local good enough for these types of people.

Honestly I don't see the point of getting any console without having multiplayer. I assume most people would want to play games online.

Edit: true there are those that do single player /have Internet issues. I have a feeling though that most gatt ppl are online gamers.
