OK...maybe I should have said 'wired headset'. 

Sony may only allow their  wireless headsets to be used in a future firmware update.

wireless headsets like the astro a50s have been working since day 1 btw

...because the Astro A50 is 'wireless' via a transmitter, as is my PX5.  So those would have worked, firmware update or not.

I'm talking about a native wireless connection directly from headset to PS4 via bluetooth.
That's not possible yet.

That recent update allowed the Sony Pulse wireless headsets to be detected and used.
Even those headsets require a USB transmitter to be plugged into the console itself.

I want true, native audio connectivity...at least for chat (like the PS3)

...and it CAN be done.  Sony just chooses not to as of yet.

bluetooth mics have for the most part from my listening experiences always been poor quality

Poor quality compared to wired, yes,  but bluetooth has improved a lot over the years.

It's now a perfectly acceptable tradeoff for the convenience of wireless.

I live on a bluetooth headset pretty much 24/7 (only take if off when sleeping and bathing...and if they made it waterproof it would stay on even then)

I have absolutely no problem with the audio quality at all.

Using a 2.4 or 5GHz wireless headphones is bad enough, but Bluetooth? Geeze

Bluetooth should be relegated for phone headsets, or maybe chat. But to enjoy a triple a game using a Bluetooth headphones? Ways, that just painful. Is best u play on a ps2.

It only have one wireless headphones in existence id recommend to anybody, and its this one:

Don't know where allyuh get the idea that  someone would use that for game audio.

Even though the controller supports game-audio streaming over what is essentially a bluetooth connection, it don't sound so hot.

actually i was referring to chat
while other ppl using bluetooth mics wont hear themselves the ppl they talkin to will and the quality of the mics arent the best

good point, I can't hear myself so I cannot vouch for the clarity of the mic.

My bluetooth is used for phone calls every day and it is just my assumption that is acceptable for both audio (on my part and that of the receiver)

I wonder if it could be jerry rigged to a PC so the mic clarity could be tested via teamspeak or so?

According to The NPD Group's numbers for January, hardware sales of the PS4 nearly doubled that of the Xbox One in the US, with Sony spokesperson Guy Longworth confirming the advantage, even if PS4 supply remains "severely constrained."

Demand for PlayStation 4 remains incredibly strong as it was No. 1 in sales for next-gen consoles in January, nearly doubling the nearest next-gen competitor, and remains the cumulative leader, according to today's NPD report...Although PS4 remains severely constrained at retail, we are working hard to refresh supply as quickly as possible.

Over in the software front, Sony managed to dominate that area too, with Longworth stating, "It's clear gamers are choosing PlayStation as the best place to play, with PS4 software sales ranking No. 1 in January, highlighted by strong sales of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, which sold twice as many units on PS4 than any other platform." Aside from Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, the PS4 version of multi-platform games is outselling its Xbox One counterpart except for Call of Duty: Ghosts and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

While both Microsoft and Sony have yet to reveal official hardware figures, estimates peg the PS4 sales at 280,000 units, with the Xbox One said to have moved 145,000 units in the first month of 2014. Keep in mind that these are US numbers. But then again, the story isn't all that different in the UK, either, with online retail giant Amazon confirming that the PS4 gap over the Xbox One is "quite a big one."

What steps should Microsoft take to catch up to Sony's PS4? Offer Xbox Live's "Games with Gold" service on the platform? Drop Kinect entirely? Or could Respawn's upcoming Titanfall be the game that lessens the gap?

Yh Titanfall is gonna push at least 5m xbox ones cause it's that awesome.It being available on 360 and pc doesn't matter cause xbone has the definitive edition thanks to the cloud.

And MGS V is only at 720p cause devs haven't begun using the cloud the right way, just wait, soon xbone is gonna play 4k games thanks to cloud power.
