Perhaps the most comprehensive Strike Suit Zero review I've seen to date...
...and with the numerous patches, and now the 'Raptor' DLC...gameplay has improved by several orders of magnitude.
The Raptor is basically a (substantially) faster Strike Suit with less armour, but a more powerful short range cannon.
Imagine fighting your way through a defensive fighter screen in Pursuit (ship) mode to close to within missile range of the frigate that's bombarding
your command ship with hull shredding plasma beams, and torpedoes as big as a house.....and wrapping said frigate in the
wonderful, calming embrace of
multiple missile swarms, then closing to cannon range and in Strike (suit) mode...blasting it's AA guns to space dust...and then quickly transforming
back to Pursuit mode and blasting out of the range of it's weapons at max afterburners before they can zero in on you.......
*sigh*
Sci-fi fans will understand my use of that particular pic.
This game is every space mecha fantasy come to life.
The only things missing now are beam swords and teenage, fighter-pilot angst.
