D lumi 800 rel cheap on bmobile, once d phones reach to local shores unlocked d prices go come down. But that note 2 price rel cheap for what u get intrue. And i agree that the note 2 tech is vastly superior to the 820. But D 920 better than both the GS3 and The Note 2. 920 take d tech to another level in the optics and display department. And d integrated wireless chargin just icening on the cake.

820 definately needs to come down to compete in that space.
But my eye on d 920, best phone hardware for d year, ill pay 800US for it, i actually buying 2. Carriers is where d sweet spot is doh, i sure it going to be d standard 150/200$ on AT&T, and comparable on bmobile as well. We go see.

Still waiting to see what windows phone 8 is all about too. Hope MS keeping it under lockdown for a good reason. Oct 29th all shall be revealed.

Was also hoping for a better price from Nokia... Sadly the ativ and 8s even are not that impressive at the lower price points either compared to many Android handsets out there. As for cheap Droid sets being a poor experience, with a good custom rom that's easily corrected which is more than can be said about the alternatives atm. I'll still hold my breath for a good deal by xmas on a wp8 handset.

That, and a green-face horse you will never see.

Nokia just posted a 1.2 billion dollar loss for their last financial year...and I heard that on the news (Al Jazeera) this morning self.

I'll give you one guess why that happened.

Lol it wasn't 1.2 million this quarter. That was the one before. This quarter gone they posted "only" a 750 million loss, so its a step in the right direction for the company, even though smartphone sales didn't contribute much.

So after all the winmo 8 hype I expect to be seeing break even or profit making next quarter.

Dunno wherevyou heard that.   I'm talking about news I heard this morning.

Read this:
m.yahoo.com/w/legobpengine/news/nokia-posts-1-2-billion-q1-loss-sales-133742974--finance.html?orig_host_hdr=news.yahoo.com&.intl=US&.lang=en-US

...and I thought it was for the year.  Turns out that it's a Q1 loss.  Ouch!!!

Revenues are down, because sales are plunging.

Things not looking so rosy at the moment.  I wonder why that is?  :/
Like everybody except Nokia could see what's happening.  They need to get some sense, fire Elop and start making some droids yes.

...but they harden... So like Palm, they will have a great device that no one wants to actually buy...and we all know how that ended.

Burn to learn.  Simple.

Still, I really wish them all the best, because I wouldn't like to see em get totally beat out from the smartphone arena.

I think we shud wait until after 920 and wp8 before we cast judgment.
They sales fall because they Symbian sales dropping faster than expected and they WP sales ain't grow fast enough, and the last Gen mot being upgradable to wp8 did not help matters, but with a partner like me backing them, and d judgment hardware that is the 920, Nokia will not fall, give them another year to turn things around. I did not buy a lumia, because it wasn't good enough for d time, understandable why folks didnt buy it (I didn't) but I sure as hell getting a 920.

Its they real hero device, so lets wait and see.

Speaking of WP8, this integration is going to come in very handy for me:

Yeah, I knew it was Q1, but damn...that's a staggering amount of money to lose in 3 months.  My intention though, was to point out that Nokia may not want to drop prices now, and incur further losses.

Still, that is encouraging news.
I want them to recover to the point where they decide to start making some droids.  :happy0203:

Nokia dropping prices wont really depend on nokia much, but Carriers, carriers is the ones who go absorb the cost to subsidize the devices. So that wont be an issue.

And Once Elop is CEO, nokia eh making no droids. So dont be optimistic about that atal.
And if they recover to the point to make the investment, then it would mean WP doing well in the market, and at that point their would be no need. It go be nice though, walking around with a 920 knowing droid customers lusting over it but cant have it  :awesome:

Sadly though the more budget oriented handsets don't support our 3/4G frequencies save the Nokia 820/822 based on my research so far. The 8s which had the best price is 800/2100 so I'm waiting to see the non contract pricing on that.
