Just tested the IDE drive, its a no go. Full of bad sectors hence removed from sale. The other drive has dec06 as the manu date. Was taken out of a dead machine a year or so ago, just parked up since then. Fully functional, no bad sectors.

look how a PCI sound card has become "legacy" eh.

a few years back, who would have thought PCI sound cards would have gone the way of the dodo (thanks to the proliferation of integrated sound)

We'll see if video cards fall victim to the same development.
