I been playing cod multiplayer since it born, longer than many on this here forum.

I never got into battlefield till bad company 2 and at first, it was hell on earth. After a couple months though bells went off in my head. It made me wonder how on earth I tolerated cod for all those years.

Anybody who wastes time on COD MP after playing bf3 simply gave up prematurely. I honestly feel sorry for you.

But carry on.

Keep your pity. That kinda attitude really not warranted on this forum, especially if someone simply expresses their own preference.

Why people have to go there? Because I prefer one game over another men hatta say they feel sorry all kinda shit?

I also played every single cod to death, so I really dont see your point.

Ive also played battlefield series since its inception, from 1942 - Battlefield 3, no one liked battlefield more, but what drives a multiplayer game more than anything is the community playing it.

COD plays well every year because of just that. finding friends (for me at least) who play the game a lot is easy as pie. Im playing with a good squad and enjoying the hell out of Blops 2 from the release date.

Neither Bad Company 2 nor Battlefield 3 were properly playable on launch, yet this is, and people still bitching.

To be honest Battlefield aint that special to me. I've reached up to level 39, and I got level bored. matches are too long and drawn out, not enough gameplay modes, (and no Im not paying 50.00 usd for extra modes when other games have them inside already) I get lag in pretty much every game and the game is buggered to heck and crashes consistently.(the only game in my collection that gives these issues) I honestly cant play more than one game, I LITERALLY had to force myself to play. Not to mention the crappy single player campaign and bleh co op.

Battlefield 3 is a buggered mess that I personally don't get how people love to this degree. when it works it works great, but when it doesnt its annoying as heck.

But out of respect for the franchise, I still trudged on.I honestly preferred Bad Company 2 which when patched was a great seamless experience.

This Battlefield fanboysrus thing really going to another level.

Just remember COD is still the highest selling game overall, know the reason? Its not only the mechanics, the gameplay, the graphics or the engine alone that makes a game sell, its the Community.

Something allyuh in yuh ignorance seem hell bent on destroying for local gamers in general.

but yes do carry on.

And for the record -
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009): $310 million (North America, UK)

Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010): $360 million (North America, UK)

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011): $400 million (North America, UK)

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (2012): $500 million (Worldwide)

Yeah, well that's par for the course now eh Emp.

That said... I will still give the mp a once-over this weekend.  I want to see for myself if it lives up to the wild claims of 'near perfection'.

I won't be holding my breath though.  :)

Memories of the headache that was the original Black Ops are still fresh in my mind.  I gave it THREE chances, and it STILL would not run without lag, and stuttering.

No lag, Berzerk?   'Near perfect'?

We shall see...

Battlefield... you weren't playing it right. If you suck at it don't blame the game and call it buggy. That's just low. I bought black ops and there was barely anyone playing it on the PC locally so don't go there. Consoles yes, not PC. PC men had more sense than that.

Game is buggy as hell for me, if it works well for you then gg. But for me i get people stuttering, game crashes, and lots of instability, I ain't going to lie to prove a point over a stupid game.

As for black ops there were lots of pc men, your experience was just limited.

But it seems people missing the point completely.

I'm usually the one to promote graphics, but at d end of d day Fun > Form, Enjoyment > Technical Superiority. I can make reference to the crysis franchise, some of the best looking graphics on PC to date, and i've never played more than 2 hrs of ANY crysis game. Becuase quite frankly, d game have no soul, it's no fun. It may look gorgeous, but the need to "force" myself to play it just because it looks great eh cutting it these days.

To be honest, COD4 is d best cod-type game i've ever played, level fun (once i had that gold ak47), Bad Company 2 wasnt bad either, many fun in that game. But B3, my word.

D first time i launch that game, it was beyond buggy, unplayable is d word. So that "you weren't playing it right. If you suck at it don't blame the game and call it buggy. " Is rubbish. I usually give games a chance to sort out their issues, like i did Rage. But rage was actually playable. Some texture popins here and there, but i could have played d game, so i gave them a chance to sort out they issues and they did. But B3? to launch that game and see man disappearing through walls, and all sorts of crazyness. Then the nightmare that i experience trying to even join a game? That website join thing is d biggest crock of shit i've ever seen in an online game, then separate friend lists ingame and on origin, d list of complains for that game goes on and on and on. in the end i run from that game faster than wyatt running from ah gay man on curep junction.

I'm not sure they fix most of the issues now, but it had too much epic games around to wait on that. So B3 was skipped entirely for me.

So ill give this BO2 a try and see if the Fun Factor of the game, outweighs the lack of superior graphics and mechanics. Is not always about technical perfection. Sometimes perfection can be found in other forms, Zelda Skyward Sword on the wii is a perfect example, lacks in graphics sure. But the game is a masterpiece rivaled only by Zelda Ocarina of Time, best game ever made.

I miss the days of Quake 3 arena doh :), That! was FPS.

Dan I don't know what stuttering you taking about. But I guarantee if you had given it a proper chance with a POSITIVE attitude, you'd be better off. Just saying.

I did give it a proper chance with a proper attitude. Loved Battlefield.....from day one. 1942, straight up.

However, I have to hang my head in shame and confirm that Battlefield 3 was a hot mess on launch. Crashes galore.

Still, persevered and the game rewarded me with some epic matches.

Unfortunately, it soon devolved into a "metro fest" with most people cramming into 64 man servers and spamming noob tubes and grenades just to get an insane amount of points and level up faster.

You know yourselves! Not calling names.

Then there was the explosive rounds shotgun fiasco. I never died so fast in my life. lol

Point is, Battlefield 3 was not without issue. It is a great game but its not perfect for all the reasons mentioned.

I can see someone (like messiaah/zerk) putting it down for that and moving on to other titles.

CoD has had its ups and downs. High points and lows, like any other franchise.

We don't need to beat up on each game (nor each other) to enjoy what they both have to offer.

Especially when a new one rolls around.

Nothing wrong with trying it out (like Arc said he would) and then coming and share his views on the experience.

I am keenly waiting for that post!

+100

And like wyatt, i was RELLLL looking forward to B3, every E3 clip i watch, i was drooling over that game, FINALLY i said to myself, a game worthy of d beast machines i does build, and after the fun i had in Bad Company 2, boy i was rel eyeing B3, i went into that Wanting to and Expecting to love the game, Dont know if setting such high expectations make me get pissed that much faster. But regardless, it was one of d bigger disappointments in gaming for me.

I hope they get it right with B4. But until they do, I'll be trying out BO2.

I know Arc and I like to sh#T talk each other about the games we like, I know him for a long time now. As they say within both EA and Activision, there's enough space for everyone. There are more gamers every day. Other than that I know when someone just chookin fire, and after being in that fire for several campaigns, i know what to ignore and what to consider.

Play what yuh like, sometimes a man feel to blow up people in a tank, sometimes yuh want a death machine to mow down a platoon, pick your poison.....

or sometimes yuh just feel like climbing on a mc cliff with nano gloves and wingsuit gliding into a warzone...wah yuh go do?

Exactly...it's all opinion, and all subjective.

...which is why I can say that for the same reasons why Messiaah didn't like Crysis, are the same reasons why I left SKID MARKS running far, FAR away from Rage.  :laughing7:

Of course Rage, as a game, totally forgettable.   Crysis on the other hand, not so much.
Still waiting on Rage 2 announcement?   :)

Rage was alright you know, it rel pickup, but d ending sucked! But the ID feel and combat is there. The enemies rel rel aggressive and intelligent, some of the better AI i seen in games for a while. All in all, i think ID should just do what everybody waiting for, Quake 5 Arena, no sp, strictly MP, and GG.

lol @ skid marks.

+1 @ shiv's post.

On a side note I found Crysis 2 was good. Don't know why the MP never took off.

No hate for the Crytek team from my neck of the woods.

ent @ messiaah....quake to the world!

Don't why they re-released Doom when Quake is what the world is waiting for!

If d Mp did take off i mite have fall in their, because i like d core mechanics of d game, but for some reason, it just......boring. D first 1-2 hrs does start off nice and swety, but then it gets hella repetitive, and kinda bland.
i'll give Crysis 2 another go at some point doh, provided d same thing eh happen to me again and Crysis 3 release whiles i convincing myself to play crysis 2 lol.
