i finished it. the story mode is very awesome. very crisp action scenes, great voice acting, I could go on... and best of all no bugs... now i can get a "legitimate' copy

Oh Activision  *sigh* spend some money on a new engine nah, ffs, or at least LICENSCE one made in the last 2 years nah,
we wouldn't vex with you for that.  Maybe I've been spoiled by Frostbite and CryEngine, but the game just doesn't look
like one made in 2012.  Asking PC gamers to pay full-price for this in 2012 is OUT...RAGEOUS!!!

My honest opinion is that im utterly shocked. Cod is usually hit or miss with me. Usually get it for the campaign and the co op, and play the multiplayer sparingly.

This multiplayer is almost perfect. Game is actually oozing polish.
Im not even kidding. On release, ive had zero lag, perfect matchmaking, and i get into games in seconds.

There are TONS of game modes, from hardpoint, triple team modes, Competitive League Play, and the old favorites like kill confirmed, CTF, Domination etc etc.

And to top it off, you got COD TV. Here you could pull your partners into a party and rewatch your matches, could even edit it and upload it to the community. (using a highlight reel)

The there are the guns, mostly with a futuristic slant,(no Lasers goning pew pew though)but with pretty decent attachments.

 The entire perk system being overhauled in place of a 10 point system, where you could edit to your heart's content. You could either focus on maxing out perks, or you could max out your gun with up to 3 attachments. Hell I made a MELEE only build with no guns,just a knife and tomahawk, maxed out dexterity and extreme conditioning among other perks and just go massacring people in game. Fun as hell.

There are other features as well, ability to change audio device ingame,(great for people with different headsets etc) change monitor, swapping from controller to kb and mouse on the fly etc etc.

 They actually put some work in the PC version of this game and it shows.

Visuals aren't awesome, but they are far from ugly. and i'm able to max it with 60+ fps consistently, and I have not experienced any lag yet.

So far I could HIGHLY recommend this. Hell ive uninstalled Battlefield 3, CounterStrike Go and every other Cod on my drive, (every other multiplayer FPS for that matter) I really hope it maintains this level of polish and good performance, and if so, this would be my go to fps for some good time to come.


And this is only the multiplayer,I haven't even touched zombies properly or the campaign.

^^ WOW, when i began reading your brief review i was about to ask if it's better than battlefield 3, but i guess you answered that question. Wonder if i should give this a look.

My main issue with cod type games (including battlefiled), is the requirement of burying hrs upon hrs upon hrs intot he game, to have a level that removes the "imba" factor of multilayer games. Is this still the case? Would i have to spend hrs on end leveling up just to be on an equal footing with other players?

It always depends on how good you are at shooters. Assuming you are, you will cut ass, especially now since the community is getting used to the new weapons and changes in the system, people are free for the killing.

Every previous cod game i was told that. but quite frankly it's never been true.
When i play cod 4, higher level players just had an unfair advantage. To even stand a chance, id have to kill a high level player and theif he gold ak47, and own with that. But once yuh dead, yuh hada scrunge to try and take out somebody with a good weapond. Eventually i got fedup, and hack my cod to unlock everything. Tweak out my character acordingly, And d same men who was feeling Hot before, rapidly found themselfs below in the rankings.

Bad Company 2 was d same thing, untill you hit level 15, it was just unfair. I appreciate the fact that you only had to hit level 15 to even the playing field in that game though.

What level i need to reach in BO2 to have an even match between 2 similarly skilled players. (Thats why i always like games like Quake, Gears, Unreal etc, level doh matter, yuh could just jump in at any time and share licks, it was just about raw skill, not grinding to level.)
