Microsoft sold more than one million Xbox One units in first 24 hours

"Did you pick up an Xbox One? Microsoft just announced that they’ve sold more than one million consoles in the first 24 hours, so odds are you did. Microsoft is claiming this launch is their biggest in the history of Xbox, sales surpassed the same numbers for the Xbox 360 launch and set new records for Microsoft.

Microsoft also shared a few more interesting stats about the current state of Xbox One games during the same first 24 hour period.
•Over 60 million zombies have been killed in “Dead Rising 3”
•Over 3.6 million miles driven in “Forza Motorsport 5"
•Over 7.1 million combos in “Killer Instinct”
•Over 8.5 million enemies defeated in “Ryse: Son of Rome”
•Over 43.3 million Fit Points earned in “Xbox Fitness”

Pretty big numbers and they’ll only continue to grow as more and more consumers pick up their consoles. Right now, the Xbox One is sold out at most retails, but Microsoft is working hard to replenish stock at all outlets. If you’re still looking for a console you might get lucky with your local stores vs. online retailers. Last we checked, both Amazon and the Microsoft Store were out of stock online. Again, call around if you missed out.

Wow impressive numbers, not as impressive as the ps4 but it's great to see the new consoles doing so well. It shows that the market is hungry for console gaming with both setting record numbers. I hope the wiiu picks up eventually.. Doesn't seem likely though.

With Mario 3d World (which has been getting epic reviews) the recent Zelda remake and the tried and true Nintendo exclusives finally coming out, I'm pretty certain WII U would pick up, how much so only time would tell.

After all the 3ds made a massive turn around in just over a year, and look where it stands now.

The gaming landscape would be an interesting place come this time next year.

My first console was a Nintendo and it has a very special place in my childhood memories. It would be awesome of they can pull off a comeback even remotely close to the 3ds.

I'll say this, the 3ds is very epic. Got a 3DS XL for son for Christmas, so been setting it up, installing games etc. and the Library of content on that thing now it just epic. And the Link Between Worlds, just icening on the cake, I buying that game for me

If Nintendo can bring a similar barrage of content to the Wii U, I have no doubt it go pick up. But until that happens, I expect sales to remain low, and I don't think Mario alone is enough to drive the sales against PS4/Xbox, I think they need all they guns at once. That will then be a very compelling argument to get a Wii U.

And yes, That game DVR Feature just full of all kinds of win oui. And Wyatt, we need to get embedcode for SkyDrive videos, cause I can guarantee you, there will be a lot more being uploaded in the near future.
