If the 'future' means paying for innovation with your consumer rights, then that's a future I don't want to live in.

Sony could hull they tail yes. First they get hacked, Then PSN was down for months. Now them men release a firmware update for Playstation 3 that is bricking systems.

Yes, it bricking the entire system. Be advised, don't run any updates on your playstaiton.

It's not just a good feature, it's arguably the best feature of the Xbox One. And i very very very much hope they go ahead with it. So everybody who onboard the Digital Bandwagon can gyrate on that family room.

The Disk-Based noobs go just suck salt.

Just finished the article, interesting read, for one the Family Room wasn't what I expected it to be, but it still good. Anyways, I hope MS finds a way to slowly re-introduce all the features that were taken out, and gradually get people onto the new model they trying to push. Rather than just completely strip it away like they were doing before.

Now the question is, how much additional xbox controllers do I buy, nobody eh answer meh yet lol.

Arc, tell me why it's worth it to have a disc-less system on the PC, and not on the Xbox.
Cause i highly doubt u does buy yuh games on PC on Disc. Or am i wrong?

But a Pc is a pc if i had to choose between plugging my pc or my console online i would go with my pc and play offline with my console. I got no problem downloading games but sometime it works out better to buy a disc than to download but is just my 2 cents

I hear all that, but i still want a reason why it's acceptable on the pc and not on the xbox? Saying it ok because is a PC is not a reason. By all accounts an xbox one is a pc as well. So why...?

Hell, check this quote from the same article shiv post:

"We have 48 million Xbox 360 users connected online nearly 24 hours a day. That is much more than any of our closet competitors and vastly more than Steam. "

48 million users already online 24 hrs a day on the xbox as is. (All this i'm guessing lead to them thinking the 24hr checkin woudl be ok).

So again, why men fine with PC all digital eco-system and apposed to the xbox. What's the difference?
If you currently buy you games on PC disc based then Cool, i understand that. But for the men who dont buy ah single PC disc and rocking hard digital, why they apposed to digital xbox.

...and therein lies the rub.

I was OK with digital downloads for the PC years ago, as I have NEVER borrowed a PC game.

I've borrowed, bought, traded, sold LOTS of console games however.

Me and my brother would regularly consult one another on which console exclusive games to by, and trade with each other.

That's the beauty, and simplicity of owning a console. Take that away completely, and for someone like me...owning that console becomes less desirable.

...and I'm actually OK with buying a game digitally, if I know that it's a game I'll probably never sell...which is why I'm so discerning about the titles I purchase on Steam. Those games I really want, or they're really cheap.

If M$ could have GUARANTEED that their new marketplace could function like that, then GG...go through hard, but the constant waffling on the issue didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence.

I'll say this again...the kind of 'future' M$ is envisioning is noble...but it will only work when high-speed broadband is as commonplace as electricity...or running water. We are not there yet.

In 7-10 years we shall see.

As it stands now...I am highly enthused that disc-based games remain the default standard.
